There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

3. Recurring Payments: Share your thoughts on accepting recurring payments here. Tell us how we can improve.

4. Invoicing: Is there any functionality that can be added to our systems to enhance the invoicing feature? Put your ideas in this forum category.

  1. People just don't carry cash anymore and customers need a way to leave their Server in a Full Service Restaurant a TIP when paying by Gift Card.

  2. Merchant would like the device to pre-auth the amount-- which it does-- but instead of charging the customer a separate amount, and then refunding them the pre-auth amount, he would like to have it just refund them the amount that was not used by the customer.

    Merchant explained that with the current way, it is causing his customers to call him thinking that they were double charged.

  3. The merchant would like to see all the transactions associated with a closeout batch using a "closeout details" button

  4. Merchants should get a warning when either the zip code or the address number does not match with the AVS service. This message should happen on any phone order or manual transaction prior to completing the sale. The merchant should then have the opportunity to either accept or decline the transaction (void) because of the possibility of fraud. As it is now in Clover, the merchant may not catch the fact the AVS failed especially since it does not print on the receipt.   6. merchants are complaining that now everytime they process a mastercard on their clover mini or flex the mastercard logo comes out on their screen and then a yellow checkmark appears and then a sound to approve the mastercard. this is delaying the process by 10 seconds its so frustrating as they are use to having a transaction get approved in less than 2 seconds, PLEASE REMOVE this new branding animation feature !!!

  7. If a card was ran on an incorrect bill and refund was issued (refund is the only way to void the credit card payment), a new order needs to be created and sent to the kitchen to process the card with the correct amount. There is no way to edit the order after the payment was refunded. Much needed in a restaurant environment - servers run cards on incorrect tables, customers realize their portion of the bill was split incorrectly, etc. Need to be able to void the payment without voiding the order.   8. Issuing manual refunds on Clover is near impossible with our business. If a customer comes in without a receipt or we're unable to pull up in orders, and we still want to let the customer exchange the item for another or issue store credit back onto gift card... there's no way to

    1) scan the item for manual refund - so system knows what item is coming back into inventory or assign it to a generic category for accounting purposes.
    2) refund a partial amount (say it was part of a bogo 1/2 off sale)

    This will be available in a future release, known as Void and Refund Reasons, which the merchant can enable/disable.

  10. Clover.com only allows for full refunds. Manual refunds are not an option, only to view past manual refunds. In addition, refund should be available to select either by line item or by refund amount.

  12. Merchant is requesting for a feature that allows them to make adjustments to an Order after it's been paid. After a customer pays for an Order and Discount is applied, if they want to return an Item or change their mind on couple of Items, there is no way to complete a partial refund for those items on the Orders app.

  13. I had old clover base station. It has Manual Transaction app on it.
    But, I bought new base station 2018. I went to app market to find and
    install. It not available.
    My restaurant still using old system to print bill. Then enter manually
    each transaction to charge for customers. With old base station was
    perfect. But newest base doesn’t have?
    Please make it! Now newest base station take to much time to do custom
    order and charge each time.

  17. Clover needs to have a Void button for credit transactions. This would allow an incorrect or unwanted credit card transaction to be removed and possibly reran, if neccesary. Then, the charge would not show up on the customer's bank account until the hold falls off, and the merchant would not be charged the discount fee for the refund.

    The current Refund button in the Transactions app will be changed to dynamically be labelled as Void or Refund, depending on the clearing state of the transaction.

  18. Merchant wants to be able that when a customer is returning an item he could scan to process a refund and also on the exchange bottom he wants to be able to choose items with different prices and see the whole inventory to pick the item the customer is asking for
