Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  2. Need an option within "Bulk Editing" to be able change/update how the inventory is updated (Manual or Automatic). Or an option within Inventory Setup to "APPLY ALL" to Manually track inventory or Automatically track inventory.

  4. Restaurant version needs to add modifier Change Layout option under each item with modifiers. Some menu items have different choice options needed in a specific order. Currently, if you adjust modifier position in Modifier Change Layout, it adjusts in all items. Needs separation.

  5. Clover does not have a good way to manage expired and damaged inventory. The best solution in my opinion would be to enable ability to toggle sale tracking off for a specific payment type. This would be similar to the way you can create a product that does not impact revenue, (currently only available on a product by product basis.)

    This would allow all products rung to a "Expired/Damaged" payment type not to be counted as sales history.

    This is important because when assessing sales history to determine what products need to be re-ordered, currently the expired products are showing…

  6. Can you make a Permission under inventory that allows select employees to 86 and items, with out giving them access to the entire inventory app. I do not want them to edit prices, just availability.

  7. Currently, we have multiple order types: dine in, takeout, and phone call. We have dine in selected as default. This is not very optimal because we are a fast casual restaurant and every customer that comes in is not always dine in. When we login to our pin, the first order type that shows up is dine in. We do not want this to be default. It has to be because we are forced to choose one. Please make it optional.

  8. In the screen where it says set online ordering preferences for printers, we would like it to list label printers as well. Currently, it only lists kitchen printers. I run a bubble tea and vietnamese restaurant. When online orders come through the kitchen, we want it to print out the expo receipt with all items listed. We have two different labels, food and drink. Food is for the kitchen, and drink is for the label printer in the front. The issue is, when an online order or delivery order comes through, it will print out two receipts. One receipt will…

  9. I run a bubble tea shop and Vietnamese restaurant. We would like to keep order numbers but also have order notes on our labels. We input the customer name or table number on the label so that we don't have to print out a receipt for the customer so that they know the order number. We want order numbers as well so we can keep track of order priority. Currently, all delivery (doordash, uber eats, and grubhub) all say in store pickup.   10. Adding a print option on the virtual terminal screen and as well for customers name to show on the printed receipt without having to create a new customer profile each time. The payeezy system use to have everything on one screen but now some merchant have to leave the virtual screen to go to transactions just to print a customer receipt. And the receipt are not showing the customer's name.

  11. When building new items - The revenue class option should be on the main build an item screen. Makes no sense to build the item and then go back into another screen to add the revenue class. The app shows it on the main build an item screen.

  12. Change the inventory layout in the clover dashboard when clicking show more and coming back the inventory takes you back to the top and its very inconvenient.

  14. EASY =) When a selected modifier on an item is deselected and changed, keep that modifier in the order it was originally, instead of moving it to bottom of the modifier list for that item on the order ticket in kitchen.

    We lost a 3 location burger restaurant because, for ex, if their customer changed from medium to well done, it would move “well done” to the bottom of the modifier list

  15. When refunding online order through a device it puts the order status to "Pending"/"Open". After refunding online order this should enter a close status. Only way for merchants to correct is to go through Dashboard and "Delete" order as they cannot delete from device.

  16. Please add a feature for customers to pre-order by a specific time that is more than 90 minutes. We require pre-orders a day in advance (due to production time). So a feature saying customers MUST order by a certain time/date would be required for us to utilize online ordering. And, having a requested pick-up time option would also be great.

  18. My restaurant takes orders in-person and over-the-phone, so I’ve enabled the option to have order receipts print when Pay or Save is tapped. However, when handling an over-the-phone order, the order receipt is printed when the order is saved, and printed AGAIN when the customer arrives and pays for the order. This automatic re-printing is confusing for our kitchen because they will receive a second order receipt for an order that’s already being/been made.

    Ideally, I’d like order receipts to be printed AFTER a customer pays for their order (not just when Pay is tapped) OR when the order is…

  19. The need to remove the "other" button on the item selection screen is very needed. We are very regulated by the state and if someone were to use this option it would be a big violation.
