Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  4. Server closes the wrong table and quickly realizes the mistake. There is no way to reopen the table to my knowledge without reentering all the orders. If its a large table what a pain.

  5. moving items from the whole table to guests is a lengthy process on Clover . It is not possible to do it on one screen as the system keeps jumping back and “ … + move items “ which are 2 extra clicks per guest have to be clicked to move items to each guest.
    Solution for this :
    Adjust Clover settings so items can be moved to all appropriate guests on the same screen wthout jumping back to whole table screean.

  7. The ability to hide specific categories on a per-device basis.
    An example would be for a Flex device that is taken off-site for off-site catering where a different menu is utilized.
    This would make it where we can make items and categories for dine-in and items and categories for off-site and removing the ability for staff to use items that they aren't supposed to use.

  9. As manufactures change and stock evolves, an item which is otherwise the same may have 4 or 5 UPCs over its lifetime. Increase the number per item from 3 to 5 comma separated UPCs in the product code field.

  10. Create an expiration date or day-count field for each item in the inventory app to help merchants keep track of spoiled or slow merchandise.

  11. Merchant's are requesting the ability to enter a quantity of items to be sold and then have the item show "currently unavailable" when the quantity reaches zero.

  12. Currently, employees must have permission access to both the cash log and the register > open cash drawer. Previously, we were able to setup permissions so that employees can open the cash drawer without providing permission access to the cash log.

  14. I have a big restaurant with 2 separate kitchen printers where I need certain modifiers to print to the pantry printer while the main dish is printed to the kitchen printer

  15. Ability to change server after sale. For instances a ticket was rang under wrong person for tips. It gets complicated to keep track of this when you have hundreds of tips to multiple people

  16. The merchant would like to be able to setup tills and track them to be able to determine if the employee is over or under at the end of his/her shift. The employees should not be able to view how much cash their suppose to have, this information should only be accessible to the owner/admin/ upper management

  18. Inventory Sheet download should include an option for a column for cost when filtered by catagory. ie. there is an option for cost with randomly ordered full inventory, but it won't divide by catagory and also give an option for a cost & retail amount column

  20. It is very difficult to use the new inventory layout because you cannot view all items and scroll quickly though all of the items. Each time you have to click on "show more" every time to get back to the same spot in the list after you edit an item.
