Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Right now, the owner only has access to the multi-location dashboard and wants to give access to the multi-location dashboard to management without giving their conditionals to their employees. My suggestion is to make it so that others can access the multi-location dashboard and not just the owner.

  2. For online orders, enable pay at the store. In recent days, many of our merchants facing a lot of chargeback issues. money deduction from the bank. If we enabled the pay at store option, client will handle the payments directly. they have strong docs to submit if any disputes are raised.
    it will reduce the merchant's disputes on online fraudulent

  5. Currently theres categories, items and modifier. Clover needs to add a second modifier option after selecting the first modifier. For example… I go to the Specialty pizza category then to Meat lover witch is an Item and I have the options to select 14” or 18” witch is the modifier. After selecting 14” a second modifier should pop up with extra ingredients/toppings customers would like to order!

    In the clover Online Ordering System below Options are not there and I think they will help
    1. Search Bar - To check the Menu Item.
    2. Pay @ Store - If the customers wanted to pay @ Store.
    3. Pay by Cash @ Store - If the customers wanted to pay by Cash @ Store.

    Pls check the above options which will help customers to a great extent.

  7. Add cash as payment method so customers can pay can and merchant will know the customer will be paying for cash. please provide update soon

  8. If a party wants to pay separately, the problem is once one guest pays, the remaining check is locked and cannot be added to. For instance, if one guest wants to leave early, and a few others stay to have dessert or keep drinking, we know the order will be locked once a single payment is made. So we move everyone to empty tables and manage them separately as a work-around

  9. Enhancing Clover's retail variant capabilities to support creation of variants via the Web Dashboard and Importing of variants via Spreadsheet

    Many retailers sell at least some merchandise with variants. Clover offers no way to import such inventory when we sell Clover to an existing business, nor does Clover allow merchants to create and manage variants via the Web Dashboard.

    Clover's retail variants cannot be created or effectively managed via the Web Dashboard.

  12. IN order to control Beverages we need to be able to force a beverage for every person based on the total number of people per check. This will allow you to have water as a beverage and an owner can keep track of his beverage count with his number of guest and can see how many customers order water verses another beverage. If a server sells water but puts a beverage on the table instead. This will cost the business owner a lot of his profit.   13. The newest update to the inventory is very difficult to bulk edit multiple items. For example, I have 3k items in my inventory, and I want to delete 500 of them. I have to click through and hit "show more" which only displays 25 items additionally at a time which takes a very long time. This is extremely time consuming and inconvenient. Previously we could select and display up to over 900 items at a time to make changes or edits to. It would be nice to have that option again. This makes it difficult to delete and manage inventory.

  14. When a manager refunds an item or sale, say for instance a cash sale, the manager then shows a negative cash amount on the manager number, but the server still shows the cash amount. If the manager does multiple refunds for different servers, it become hard to figure out in the instances where the servers hold their own banks.

    Turning on refunds in the permissions for servers in not a good option.

  15. Currently, the owner email receives notification when an online order fails to print; however, this isn't always the most effective communication option. Please add text notifications and/or a carbon copy to be sent to additional users/emails

  16. Allow creation of Labels to Modifiers as well as, or instead of Items. My Kitchen does not care to see the entire Item (with it's modifiers) printed. Instead, my kitchen only cares to see certain modifiers within an item to be printed. Can this be implemented please?

    we lost our alternative name field, In that field we had nicknames for product and some important details. I need it back ASAP or i have to redo all my products. Please stop changing the system your killing us

  20. Allow for item duplication/cloning on devices such as the flex. Item duplication is allowed on the web dashboard but not on the actual devices. It’s a useful tool for retail businesses.
