Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. After tapping the table number. The Display of the Menu in the flex is FORCED to be Categories & Items View. Its easier if it were on Category View, its easier to order than just scrolling right and left to find the item or use the search bar. Please implement a category view for the flex as in mini and station it is fine.

  3. I want to be able to adjust the layout on the kitchen printer. For example i want to be able to print Hamburger first and then move the combo next to it and then underneath the selections i.e no onions no lettuce etc.

  5. I would like to be able to still use the old Inventory layout. the new layout is not as fluid when entering in new items, searching for items, or sorting the inventory.

  6. This is extremely important for retailers when scanning items.
    The clover system only has one sound, a beep, anytime an item scans. The problem is when an item does not have a price attached to it still makes the same beep sound. So if you are scanning multiple items you may miss one. To resolve if item does not have price make a different noise to let retailer know a price has not been logged for this sale item. Otherwise if retailer does not notice item will go out the door without money being collected if its mixed in an…

  7. Currently All inventory counts are allowed to go negative. A true countdown allows you to input the total amount of inventory on hand and not be able to sell more than you have. When you get to 0 the terminal should not allow the item to be sold. Making this an option to turn on or off would be the best.

  8. Our biggest setback with bars/restaurant's with reception venues is the ability to keep good bar tabs. Competitive POS systems allow for a quick scan of the credit card to open and create the tab and then run the total at the end of the night in the event the customer is a flight risk to leave out on their tab. How can we make this better for those businesses?

  9. Remove "whole table" option in dinning. It's frustrating when you accident add items to whole table instead if guest.

  10. Some businesses produce and sell items on request as well as sell items in stock, and the items produced at request do not need to have their quantity tracked.

    For example: A food truck produced burgers as ordered, and also sells bottled water and soda. It's beneficial to track the stock of the bottles, but they do not prepare meals in advanced and do not have a stock of prepared hamburgers to keep track of. The way the Inventory currently works, every time the merchant sells a burger, the burger quantity in the inventory ticks down further into the negatives.

  12. Merchants complains because when login to the dashboard through his phone (he tried iPhone and android), the display is not programmed correctly, so he would see wider or bigger pictures and is not able to tap on buttons because he can't view them correctly.

  14. Once the option is unselected under Order Receipts the field for Alternate Names is no longer visible in the Web Dashboard. Merchant is using that function for bookkeeping and would like to have
    alternate feature on but does not want the alternate name printed to the printer. Previously deselecting this option would only effect the printing and not the actual item causing the field to be removed.

  15. Online ordering with clover only has the options for Pick-up, Curbside Pickup, Delivery and Dine in. A custom order type would be amazing so we can customize an order type the way we can do it for the clover stations! For example having a Sitting at Woodrow’s order type.

  16. I need my Managers to be able to access the Multi-User Dashboard to enter new items in inventory. With only Owner access, it means I must create all new inventory items. Otherwise, my Manager has to create it in one location and then duplicate it in our second retail location.

  18. Management needs to have access to add/edit employees from their specific location. As a franchisor I need this feature so my franchisees don’t have access to each other’s store info/reporting. Please let me know if this feature can be added to my account.

  20. The alternate name field disappeared form the Inventory Add Item screen on 7/23/21. Requesting this field be added back to the screen. It is still in the export. Our business uses it regularly.
