Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. We currently have a host that seats guests, with waiters/waitresses coming afterwards to take orders. We would like to have the option in Clover Dining to show that the guests are seated without having to take an order. If you select a table for seating, and add/remove/leave default the number of guests that are seated there, and if you go back to the floor plan screen, it releases the table. This is very confusing for everyone when there are guests seated that don't have any orders yet, and they do no show up on the floor plan, only as empty…

  2. Kitchen order receipt letter size. Need larger size like XL, jumbo 1. Jumbo 2. Current L size can only seen from few feet, station to stove can be far. Please make larger letter and bold option. Kitchen use short food name ( alternative name) paper space is not problem.

  4. On Clover web dashboard we used to be able to filter items by category, select all and assign a Label. It seems that 'Label' has changed to 'Printer Label' and now there's Revenue Class instead, which is fine, but please bring back the ability to bulk assign. Now we're required to look through all of our inventory and hand-pick each item to assign it to a revenue class. We have thousands of items in our inventory. This is VERY time consuming.

  6. This is a semiautomation request helping merchants to quickly build the order with several modifiers options.
    Example:
    If modifier one, for example, pizza crust is selected move automatically to modifier two, for example, pizza size, once modifier 2 is selected move automatically to modifier 3 in sequence and so on until all modifiers within the items are selected accordigly.

  7. It would be nice if we could customize colors when adding more items into the system, especially for those fashion, apparel businesses. There are some common are available, but still missing some major colors such as Black, Yellow, and White. I suggest if clover could use a "color wheel" system for their clients, so they can DYI their projects.

  9. when your in inventory its to easy to accidently clone an item. the 3 choices are close together so its easy to hit clone by mistake. Maybe a window should prompt when you hit clone. Sort of like when you want to delete an item

  11. When the receipt details is sent or being pulled up on the clover dashboard to have included on the display information for it the taxes name

    Right now it is only showing the "total taxes" instead of the tax name
    This request is only for the receipt detail on the dashboard or on the sent receipt thru email as the physical receipt is showing the taxes name

  12. We are a retail store and we use the custom modifier section to put the name of the item being purchased. For example if someone is purchasing a table, we will put table in this section. we used to be able to put the description that we put in the custom modifier section into the SEARCH box. For example if we want to see everyone that purchased a table in the last 60 days we can search that . our sales numbers are very high so going through reports really is not an option.   18. Could we please add this feature back and keep it? My business uses that feature faithfully. It comes in handy when I have the same item/product but different vendors/brand. It helps in knowing which specific one is low in stock. Thanks

  19. Picture this: it's a busy rush. Chef says we are out of GUACAMOLE don't sell anymore! So I have to leave the cash and:
    -go to the office
    -open a browser
    -go to clover.com
    -sign in
    -click on account & setup
    -click online ordering
    -click online menu
    -de-select GUACAMOLE
    And then I need to head back up to the cash where I've been absent for 2-4mins

    This cannot be the way!

    Can we please get an option on the device to do this?

    I can even suggest the placement:
    -Click on Inventory
    -Click on item desired
    -Check box beside 'Show…

  20. Please add manager permission for managers to be able to add a NEW employee into the system. This seems basic for a restaurant program. Managers are the ones that do new employee onboarding not the owner or admin
