Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  2. When dine in — there needs to be a mandatory identifier for the table, place or area for which the order is coming from. Then servers will know where to take the food and drinks in a room of 300 tables

  3. I would like to see it when you enter a “New item” if the UPC has been previously used that the clover would notify you so you do not have duplicates. It would help with inventory tracking and data entry. I have been in the grocery business for about 17 years and worked several systems they all did this. I am very pleased with how the clover operates. Thank you.

  4. I sell packs and individual items out of said pack. i've had to clone the item in inventory because only 1 product code exists. so the idea would be to allow mutual stock decrease or increase.

  6. COVID changed our lives.
    Clover it's a request to add the following features to help us survive.
    1. Ability to modify or add prep time while confirming the order
    2. Text communication with customer regarding accepting and order ready for pick up
    3. Direct partnership for delivery with Doordash or Uber
    4. Use Uber for reference their system is very good, don't need delivery tracking.
    5. Online pool max for not accepting more than what we can handle.

  7. I would love if we were able to take 2 barcodes, add them to the same inventory item, but they have different inventory quantities removed when scanned. So in my cigar shop For ex: Davidoff Churchill stick= 1 stick but the Davidoff Churchill box = 24 sticks. This way when my employees open a new box from inventory to be placed on the sales floor in sticks, I don't have to go into inventory, remove 1 box, and add 24 sticks to the inventory. My old system allowed me to link the 2 items together. This made it a lot…

  8. Can you please allow us to set online service hours for any time, i.e. 11:59 pm, since the system will not accept 12:00am or beyond because it is on a different day. It would be convenient to be able to change the day, i.e. operating from Wednesday 9:00 pm to Thursday 1:30 am.

  9. keep server for tip purposes even if the ticket has been "cashed out" by someone else ie an admin or manager that has access to all orders and transactions. we do this a lot when it is busy and people come up to the bar to pay their bill. the bartender is a manager/admin and can cash out all tickets under her name. but the ticket and tip should stay in the servers name

  10. Please add option to actually use two separate logo files for these two distinct use cases. The spots are already there, Clover just needs to have each logo point at a different receipt type.
    At this time, there are two locations to upload a logo, under Web Dashboard>Account & Setup:
    1) >Business Information>Business Logo
    2) >Payment Receipts
    However, only ONE logo option may be selected for actual use; either 1) a great looking color logo that typically looks horrible on a thermal receipt, or 2) a great looking B & W logo for thermal receipts that typically disappears on a…

  11. Currently there is no way to quickly refer to the last order that was placed after a transaction -- only the price. In a fast-paced restaurant setting this can be a disadvantage, as often the cashier needs to refer to the last order information (i.e. when pouring a soft drink) without having to navigate to the "Orders" tab and finding the individual order, which can take up extra time and button clicks.

    I kindly request to add an option to show the last placed order in the "receipts" payment screen. I have attached a picture to show what I mean:

  12. Merchants is not happy their station pro keep losing fingerprints and have to add fingerprint for employees. Additionally, from time to time Employee app have error saving the fingerprint. We keep sending diagnostics logs but at the moment we are tired that this keeps happening. We keep getting angry messages and calls from our merchants.

  13. For apps with icons on the top right of the title bar, could you space them farther apart and have them colored instead of being gray color. We have trouble see gray against white and we have fat fingers….

  14. New Clover App doesn't allow you to easily add modifiers or labels to all items in a category. On the old app you can select all items in a category and attach a label or modifier to all or a select number of items. On the new app you need to export and import, which creates a lot of errors. Or you have to add the label and go through all items without knowing which category they are a part of, please fix asap or allow all new systems the old inventory. This will hurt my ability to sell clover.

  15. When using Clover Dining we are putting orders in at the guest level. Because of this we would like to see reporting down to the guest level. Thus # of guests served, average order / guest, break down of orders by guest (Food, Drink, Appetizers, etc.).

  16. I would like to be able to use a deposit button, for example if clients are buying beer their is a battle deposit added and when they return the bottles we can reimburse them the money.

  19. Merchant is requesting the old update for clover dining because the employees are ot seeing their name on the tables , when merchant make the table bigger we can see the employee name but because merchant have a big restaurant and a lot of tables we are not able to keep all the tables at a big size .
    please allow the employee name to show on smaller table sizes like it use to

  20. Allow a merchant who is using an Integrated POS with Clover to merge the receipts from both, POS and Clover device, to provide customer with one receipt instead of the two of them.

    Additionally, please consider adding EVR to merge both receipts for Integrations and Clover Devices.
