Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. lets say a family comes in and two services attend the table and they only wants to pay off one card how does the funds split knowing that two servers assist that table and that how they are going to get paid. their needs to be away for the funds to be split under both server info even though one employee logged in.

  2. Inventory should be easier. Every year I have to add each item cost up for an Inventory. There should at least be a report we can run. We put cost and retail prices in for a reason.

  3. When adding a new item, the person is forced to add a category, modifer,revenue class or lable. These can be adjusted in the admin panel.

    So many people adding inventory and the reports are getting messed up.

  6. I've had multiple requests from counterpay restaurant clients to have the ability to prioritize modifiers for what order they will print on the kitchen receipt. Currently the system only prints these in the order they were selected by the employee... but many kitchen lines have to do things in a specific order. Prioritizing modifiers can help to make sure they always print right for the kitchen. THANK YOU

  8. Owner uses clover dining and tables and wants to split different ways on guests or per guest as a guest may pay with 2 different type of cards. Right now it is required to move orders to different table but if all tables are used there are not more split in different and types of tenders by each guests

  9. The Station Pro and Online Ordering are great... but we need to have store staff able to enter phone orders for DELIVERIES in the online order system ... not just pickup or curbside...

  10. When opening a tab – have the note section to name tab pop up first. Vs manually clicking on the 3 dots and clicking notes….Everyone always names a Tab.

  11. Merchant would like to restrict their tender types to certain employees to force that for e.x., cash to be taken only by admin roles to force employees to give the money to people with that role.

  12. Hello,
    We have multiple customers request the feature for the kitchen printer.
    We would need a way to group the items in categories together and display in order.
    For example, waiter put coke, egg roll (Appetizer), noodle (main dish) , calamari (Appetizer).
    The Kitchen printer should print in this order:
    -1 x Egg roll
    - 1 x Calamari
    - 1 x Noodle
    - 1 x Coke

    So, the order should be Appetizer first, then main dish, and drink. This option is great to have especially when Kitchen have only one printer. The POS competitors has this option for a long…

  13. At this time we only have the ability to search for;

    All Categories (pre programed)
    and any category we manually create

    There is no way to search for "Unclassified" items that have not been placed into a category.

  14. Clover Customer App tether to the Clover POS while on same network as the restaurant. Ability for customer to place an order at their table from their phone and show up at the bar or counter POS and show what table they are at. Then cash out on the App.

  15. I would like to be able to view all my items on one screen without scrolling. I would like to change the size of the buttons. right now the max display is (6x5) 30 items. Would like to be able to increase that by making the buttons smaller.

  16. Looking for when you put in an address it will tell you if it is within your delivery range.

    ex: If I use a 3 mile radius, and you call and you are 4.5 miles away, then I ca have the option to override and bring you a delivery or just say no.

    ex: Ability to draw on a map ( like google map) where a delivery range is, and if the address inputted is outside of it we won't deliver.

    reason: not everyone knows geography around and want to eliminate having to drive "to far" for a delivery.

  18. Please enable a way to print just the order number for customers to hold onto. It is a waste of paper to print the entire receipt just for the order number. The customer should have the ability to request a receipt in which case the order number ticket and the receipt will both be printed.

  19. After a recent update the Transactions app wont remember the position on the list after a payment is clicked.

    Ex>
    Merchant will scroll down to reprint a few receipts from a previous day. Merchant will reprint one of the receipts but when going back to the list it will take her back to the top. She will have to scroll down again to the desired day to reprint the next receipt.

  20. Currently you can only offer tip suggestions as a percentage, but as a coffee shop dollar amounts make more sense. People typically tip $1.00 -$5.00 per drink and with the percentage tipping option it doesn't even come close. It cuts baristas short by doing percentage suggestions even when upping percentages, and takes away the convienence option for customers when they have to exclusively custom tip. Giving us the option of percentage or dollar and letting us set our own tip options would be amazing. Thanks.
