Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Parent Items with Variants should show as single items (and not list all variants).

    Parent Items with Variants should be allowed to be assigned to sales categories and reordered like other items within that category. Presently parent items with variants only show in 'all items'.

    Order UI / Flow - When a parent item with variants is touched, the options within each variant should show (just like multiple modifier groups would), allowing the clerk to choose a single option within each variant group that results in adding the correct sales item to the order (receipt pane).

  3. Clover used to have the ability to cut the order receipt on the kitchen printer after each Item in an order. We have multiple requests from merchants to bring this feature back, and/or update so that if they are using the Clover Dining/Table app to cut between each guest.

  4. you should be able to use modifiers and items without having to use to many categories, modifiers and items. too much red tape. and to time consuming.

  5. Please allow inventory counts for all items including the DoorDash Drive orders that appear in my orders app. My inventory is currently not affected by any DoorDash orders and it could easily be a big problem. Right now the only way to prevent selling a sold out item is to make the item unavailable for both clover online orders and DoorDash orders, which is unsatisfactory.

  6. Our facility offers different menus (categories) at different locations on the same property sometimes at the same time. When running reports, it would be helpful to differentiate which items were sold at which location. Currently, the reporting system will only indicate an item in the category where it was first programmed. For example, if bottled water is being sold in multiple categories, it will only report sales in one of the categories. Please advise if there is a solution for this. Thanks!

  9. Sales Activity -> Transactions -> Refunds

    When we are in the Details of a refund there is no option to Send Receipt. Can we get the button to Send Receipt similar to the Payments tab? As it stands it is far too manual a workaround process to manually send a refund receipt to a customer when one is requested.

  10. For a smoother and efficient process for the kitchen (especially when we have a big group) allow the system to always populated the appetizers to the top of the ticket and deserts is always populated to the bottom

  11. Currently, if a customer goes to Clover online ordering and cancels the order, the $0.00 order ticket will stuck in the order app and cannot be deleted, which is cluttering the list. Please add an option to delete or archive these cancelled orders from the orders app.

  12. Please make it so employees cannot get passed the lock-screen without clocking in by making the clock-in prompt undismissable. Meaning, when you hit cancel instead of clock-in, you are brought back to the lock screen. This will prevent employees from accidentally processing transactions without being clocked in.

  13. The option to email the closeout report has been removed from the Dashboard with a recent update. This is problematic for merchants that only use Clover Go. There is also no setting in the Clover Go app that allows for this as well. Please bring back the setting to email the closeout report either on the Dashboard or in the Clover Go app.

  15. Have a Service Plan specific for retail, which don't include all the restaurant apps and functionality. Retail would focus more on inventory, online/in house sales functionality.

  16. employee permission on what they can view. when my staff opens up to create an invoice all my total sales show on the screen. i do not want my staff to see that. it should only show create invoice and in another screen there should be previous invoices. and screen should be accounting reports

  17. Please allow edit employee to change the employee name. Best example is employee gets married. Deleting employee and entering again with new name is not a very good way of doing this.

  18. Merchant would like to filter orders by tax rate. That way it is easier to determine which transactions and orders have which tax applied to them to ensure rules by order type is working.

  19. With online ordering, we can printing items to kitchen using the alternate name but cannot do so with modifiers? That is a big issue for us because our alternate name is in Vietnamese and our kitchen staff cannot read English. I'm not sure why that was not developed when developing the online order since it prints fine when we enter the orders with items and modifiers with the devices.
