Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. Merchant is requesting to have a 2nd email added as an owner. Some businesses have co-owners and they need to be able to make changes to the account or have the authentication One Time Code sent to them too

  5. When merchant uses a custom tender to accept a sale (such as lottery) the amount is accepted as CASH, but does not show the actual amount of cash that was accepted.
    This is needed to know how much to give back to the customer as change.

    • If he uses the tender button it keeps track in the payments report to show him the amount he is accepting for lottery
    • If he uses the cash option it totals all of the cash payments instead of separating the amounts just paid as the custom tender( not allowing to keep track of just…

  6. Currently, when using the the Inventory Stock Tracking & Auto Decrement, The Clover does not add returned items back into the stock quantities. This is causing inaccurate stock counts.

    Example:
    Business has 10x bottles of water currently in their inventory, and sells 1 bottle. New current Inventory is now 9 bottles of water. But if the customer returns the bottle of water, the current inventory is still 9 Bottles. The business owner will have to fix it manually, by going into the inventory app, finding the product, and update the quantity.

    We are asking that a software update be made…

  9. Currently on the Mini Itemized merchant receipts are not possible. However on the clover station itemized merchant receipts are possible. Would like to request this to be the same on the clover mini as well.

  10. currently suggested tip % amounts are calculated based on the total after applied discounts. It should be calculated based on order total BEFORE any discounts. It would be useful to have a toggle switch to control whether a business wants to have it based on total BEFORE or AFTER discounts.

  11. Be able to remove or disable the default custom item button that shows up at the bottom of each category. Or to be able to restrict the use/visibility of that button under employee permissions.

  12. when customer is going to order the item together with the modifier items, say steak with fries, fries is the modifier, there is no way for merchant to add 2 orders of fries or 3 orders, if we can add a quantity of modifier items, that will be very useful

  16. Adding labels on the clover device take two long I have to add it one by one . If I have categories set up already I should be able to go under labels and select items to add to my label based on category . If I already have a category that everything is for food that go to the kitchen I should be able to go to labels and select that category and create a kitchen printer label with the category.

  18. On the Bar and More screen, when a manager logs in they can see all open tabs. If they are looking for a specific server's tab, they are unable to easily locate it.

    The tabs should be grouped by server, have the server's name at the top of the square, or have a unique color arcoss the top of the tab and group colors together.

    As of now, there is no easy way to locate a tab on the Bar and More screen when you have a lot of them open.

  20. I have spoken to two different restaurants that would like the capability to see in reporting when a transfer of table/server happened. For example : Server A is serving a table gets them up to entrée point but has to leave so she transfers the table/orders to Server B. Server B handles the table from there til they cash out. They need a way to see that Server A was also involved with that table for tip purposes.
