Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. We want the ability to have the (Clover Dining) Table QR Codes to point to different menus. The use case is that when people are dining in we want to allow them to order pastries like croissants. However, if they order online via direct link to the clover menu, or 3rd party, they should not be able to order pastries. Another example would be alcohol, can't have people ordering that online, because they must be in-person to check ID.

    Perhaps there could be a separate Menu Channel for each table in Clover Dining. Or at least a separate Menu Channel…

  2. When in the Item or Category view, add Sort functionality (in ascending and descending order) to all columns: Price, Cost, Categories, On POS, Tax, Available, Modifier Groups, Stock Counts, etc.

  3. Have a Service Plan specific for retail, which don't include all the restaurant apps and functionality. Retail would focus more on inventory, online/in house sales functionality.

  4. Currently, if a customer goes to Clover online ordering and cancels the order, the $0.00 order ticket will stuck in the order app and cannot be deleted, which is cluttering the list. Please add an option to delete or archive these cancelled orders from the orders app.

  7. We have a bar with 16 stations; 8 solos,3 minis, and 5 flex. We have a remote printer that fires cocktails to the bar. This is only on the flex devices that are used for table service. The problem is, if a table is opened on the flex, then a station is used to ring a drink, when the flex is used to ring another drink, the drink that was rang on the station(by a bartender, who then makes the drink)fires with the drink just rang on the flex. The service bartender makes both drinks, not knowing that one has…

  8. We need to be able to set up printer labels based on modifiers and not just items. If a restaurant sells an item like fish, chicken, and shrimp, the kitchen needs to get the order based on the modifier chosen. If the item is grilled/blackened, it needs to print to the grill, but if the item is fried, it needs to print to the fryer.

  9. We are a new small business - a neighborhood grocery/bodega and a Food to Go business. We need restaurant services (on line menu, gift cards, curbside, pick-up dine in )and grocery services (Inventory, multiple categories). We buy from at least 15-20 distributors and vendors and have more than 5400 items already in the system with 15+ categories.

    The problem is when you export the inventory into an Excel spreadsheet all of the items are mixed up - on the ITEM tab. They are not sorted by category in fact they are not even alphabetized. The current Item tab does not…

  10. Clover Online Ordering should have the ability to schedule business closure dates on future dates for Holidays, etc. This would help prevent merchants from forgetting to turn off online ordering and having orders come in while the business is closed for holidays.

  11. Clover does not have a good way to manage expired and damaged inventory. The best solution in my opinion would be to enable ability to toggle sale tracking off for a specific payment type. This would be similar to the way you can create a product that does not impact revenue, (currently only available on a product by product basis.)

    This would allow all products rung to a "Expired/Damaged" payment type not to be counted as sales history.

    This is important because when assessing sales history to determine what products need to be re-ordered, currently the expired products are showing…

  12. Merchant requesting two numbers for SMS Two-Factor Authentication instead of one number. Merchant stated it would be better to have more then two numbers instead of one

  13. Please add a feature for customers to pre-order by a specific time that is more than 90 minutes. We require pre-orders a day in advance (due to production time). So a feature saying customers MUST order by a certain time/date would be required for us to utilize online ordering. And, having a requested pick-up time option would also be great.

  15. WE use the Clover, Google, Grubhub and DoorDash online ordering integrated to Clover, and we will really like to have a sound notification whenever we receive an order instead of always keeping an eye on the printer.

  16. My restaurant takes orders in-person and over-the-phone, so I’ve enabled the option to have order receipts print when Pay or Save is tapped. However, when handling an over-the-phone order, the order receipt is printed when the order is saved, and printed AGAIN when the customer arrives and pays for the order. This automatic re-printing is confusing for our kitchen because they will receive a second order receipt for an order that’s already being/been made.

    Ideally, I’d like order receipts to be printed AFTER a customer pays for their order (not just when Pay is tapped) OR when the order is…

  18. The alternate name category is being requested to show in the Inventory app, even when it is not enable for Order Receipts. The merchant would like to be able to view Inventory from the Web Dashboard, with the same alternate names visible.
