Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. We need the ability to add a revenue class to a new inventory item directly from device. I've seen this requested as far back as 2021 but it is still not an option. Revenue classes are vital to inventory management and reporting and so it makes no sense that they can only be added through the dashboard. This is very cumbersome and unnecessary. It would be so easy to add "revenue class" as an input option on the "add item" screen on the device and it would save a huge amount of frustration and time on the user end.

  2. We have multiple locations, but utilize the same employees at those locations. We need the ability to enter an employee once at the Multi-Location level and have the ability to select which location they need to be authorized for. Right now we have to enter the same employee at each location, which is time consuming and the margin for error is greater in not getting Access Code, Role etc the same in each place.

  3. Parent Items with Variants should show as single items (and not list all variants).

    Parent Items with Variants should be allowed to be assigned to sales categories and reordered like other items within that category. Presently parent items with variants only show in 'all items'.

    Order UI / Flow - When a parent item with variants is touched, the options within each variant should show (just like multiple modifier groups would), allowing the clerk to choose a single option within each variant group that results in adding the correct sales item to the order (receipt pane).

  4. Our facility offers different menus (categories) at different locations on the same property sometimes at the same time. When running reports, it would be helpful to differentiate which items were sold at which location. Currently, the reporting system will only indicate an item in the category where it was first programmed. For example, if bottled water is being sold in multiple categories, it will only report sales in one of the categories. Please advise if there is a solution for this. Thanks!

  5. This option will allow multiple units of the same modifier option to be selected when ordering. Uber Eats already has this option.
    E.g. our family pack comes with 8 drinks and 3 appetizers. at the moment the customer can choose the options they want but not the quantity. for example the can choose Diet Coke and Fanta which will result in us sending them 4 of each, If the want 2 Diet Cokes and 6 Fanta, they will have to write a note which is inconvenient.

  6. A log is critical for Clover Dining, similar to tables. Who opened the order, time opened, Changes (e.g. Add burger time, add drink times) , time order was fired, ...basic internal controls. Even half of this would be beneficial. It is difficult, even with cameras to track the sequence of POS activity when things go wrong. Process improvement and theft prevention.

  7. Please allow edit employee to change the employee name. Best example is employee gets married. Deleting employee and entering again with new name is not a very good way of doing this.

  8. Prompt Cashier for "A Name for the Order" while keeping order numbers.
    I like having order numbers to make sure the staff cook and make drinks in the order in which they were placed. But I also would like to have an option to require a prompt for "A name for the Order" without having to manually add an order note. Currently you can set the order number either to be automatic rolling numbers OR "manual" (where it prompts you to add a name or number) but there is no way to to select both.

  9. I'm in the limo transportation business, and our clients virtually order our services and we get their info including creit cards, store it and charge their card after every use and we sent them a receipt with a descripion of each charge/service on it. They often use our services frequently with different services and rates.
    While there is a line in the virtual terminal under the Order Note, it does not however show on the receipt. This is crucial for us and our clients to have that description line so they can get reimbursed or identify which charge is for…

  10. If a restaurant is using Clover Dining and takes a ToGo order through the non-table orders tab, the final disposition is "Fire All" or "Pay". However, if the order is placed through Register, the final disposition is "Save" or "Pay". Some restaurants find this confusing for servers. If a merchant is using Clover Dining, suggest the experience be the same no matter which app is used to place the order with the Clover Dining experience being the default.

  11. The two outages have caused significant business impact. While outages cannot always be avoided, the most up to date information available should be communicated to all affected by the outage. On 3/11/23 we had an outage that has lasted five hours, yet status.clover.com reports there is "system degradation but all systems are operational". Systems are not operational, and there is very limited information on predicted time to restore system.

    There is no official social media communications except for a lot of clover businesses that are telling people to avoid clover.

  13. if i have a global percentage price increase from a vendor i need a way to adjust all my prices on those inventory items from that vendor without going in and adjusting each inventory item individually

  14. I sell shoes, when I must change a price, we must change one variant at a time. It would be nice to edit faster by entering the amount once and selecting the variants to replace.

  15. It would be great to have admin capabilities to view audit logs of who added, removed, or updated a backend setting. Recently our business had a tax change made that cost us a large sum of taxes missed during transactions that had to come out of our business revenue as a result. These logs would allow us to see who added a new tax, when, and the specific user responsible for the addition. This will allow for accountability for these types of actions, but also to help understand when potential issues first started.

  16. Need an option within "Bulk Editing" to be able change/update how the inventory is updated (Manual or Automatic). Or an option within Inventory Setup to "APPLY ALL" to Manually track inventory or Automatically track inventory.

  20. When items are sold, inventory is automatically relieved from inventory. However, when items are returned for refund, the refund item feature does not automatically add the item back to inventory. The item has to be manually added back to inventory.

    Summation...clover currently auto-deducts items from inventory when sold. Clover should auto-add items to inventory when returned for credit.
