Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  2. Hello ~

    My issue is I need a report for my employees end of shift report to print out the number of transactions they had for their shift. This was available before Wed April 24, 2024. The report had the subtotal of all cards (not detailed cards though) and then the tips separately, so the employees had to add these numbers together to get their total of their cards and tips.

    Since the update April 24, 2024, they add together the amounts now, but do not give the number of transactions made so they can count up their physical copies.…

  4. We have a 3rd party running our food & beverage. They need access to enter inventory and pull reports. I'd like to have an option that they have access to just food & beverage categories as opposed to seeing our full facility sales

  5. Assign tickets to the person who originally started the ticket regardless of who runs the credit card at cash out. That way a manager can help cash out customers without worrying about who the tip will be assigned to.

  6. Full service restaurants have the following critical issue:

    Server A accidentally closes out an order to the incorrect payment method, Manager A then refunds/voids the payment, then Server A adds the correct payment method.

    In reports, it shows that Server A has taken 2 payments and that Manager A has performed 1 refund. This corrupts both the server and manager's sales reports and tip payouts.

  7. There needs to be a way to limit the amount of menu items a customer can order using the online ordering. We have had many problems with customers using online ordering to order large quantity of menu items that would fall more under catering. It really creates a problem both for the customer that expects there order to be ready at a given time and the staff trying to fulfill the order. Also creates a problem when the customer chooses delivery and for any reason the driver cancels the order and that order gets refunded without notice!

  8. Please find a way to limit Clover software updates to outside of business hours. We've heard a number of complaints about updates happening during peak hours that have been negatively impacting business

  9. It would be extremely helpful if we could define a Start & Stop time for each Day selected when configuring a Daypart.
    If a business is open until 2AM on a Monday, for example, it would be nice to be able to configure a Daypart that extends from 10pm on Monday until 2AM on Tuesday.

  10. Most other POS systems offer a “pay at store” option for online ordering. I have a lot of highschool students who utilize this function and pay cash. I would like to streamline all online orders through clover, but have not switched for this specific reason.

  11. We would like Owner & Admin users to be able to Delete, Hide or Unpublish POS Menus after they have been Published.

    Not being able to clean up past menus that are no longer in use will lead to staff confusion if they need to manually select a Published menu.

    We have a bar that charges $0.25 more for all drinks on Fridays & Saturdays. We duplicated the Default POS Menu & incremented all prices by $0.25 for their Friday & Saturday Daypart menus.

  13. There no way of knowing where the payment came from if we are to investigate for whatever reason. As a merchant, it is very important to be able to locate all transaction processed. The merchant receipt should have all the detailed Information that appears on the customer's receipt, that is, order/table number and item/items sold. Both receipts used to have detailed information before we had to change our equipments because of end of service

  14. I need a negative variable option so I can add Lotto Paid Out and Scratcher Paid Out because using the Pay Out app has too many steps and time consuming. We sell a lot of Lotto and Scratchers and payout winners. It needs to be show up on the register, because we would have to pay the person out first before they can buy more. It would be easier to ring them up at the same time and it would tell us how much they owe or how much they need to pay.

  15. We support a very busy bar that is concerned with preventing theft. They do over 2 million in sales a year, so preventing Bartenders & Servers from deleting an item from an order all together was considered too restrictive. Turning that option on had them ready to take Clover out the next day.

    We currently have "Edit printed items without override" turned off for Servers & Bartenders in an attempt to limit theft. Unfortunately, this prevents the Bartenders from being able to select the + on a previously ordered item when a customer orders a 2nd or 3rd round of…

  16. I want to be able to disable/hide a menu category from the POS devices without fully removing it. If a menu category is unused at the moment, we should be able to hide it without deleting the category to keep the items there and not have to rebuild the menu items if they come back in the future.

  17. Can we please add an option in the Order Receipts to have as optional to add the vehicle description for curbside pickup. I know you can add it under notes but notes are used for other information.

  18. In a QSR with multiple cash registers, it would be great if the order numbers on the printed kitchen tickets were sequential.

    We primarily use one register, but during rush we use a second register. If the primary register is on order #50 and then someone jumps on the second register and takes an order, that order should be #51…as it is right now, that prints in the kitchen as order #1 and can easily cause confusion as to the actual order sequence and lead to firing food out of order.

  20. Allow restaurants to sort their online menus by Category or Item (including alphabetically) for fast access to turn items on and off depending on availability. Right now, I just see a list of all items available, which makes it difficult to go through the entire list just to turn one or two items off.
