Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc. 

Menu: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

  1. The sales report is displaying on the home screen of clover device. And our merchant don't want that. Could you please find a way to remove or hide it from the home screen.

  2. From the register icon, if you choose delivery the prompt for address and telephone number should automatically pop up. There is never a time that you will choose delivery and not need the address. For restaurants that have younger employees-if they forget to ask for address information it creates big problems to retrieve that information.

  3. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…

  4. Currently modifiers don't roll up into cost of goods sold. Example: Steak dinner.

    Primary selection NY steak COGS $11.

    Modifiers of potato, salad, salad dressing, the cost of goods sold for these three modifier groups don't roll up into overall cost for the steak meal.

    Result in higher gross margin which is inaccurate.

  5. In the order screen, there is nothing to tell the server which order is the one they are looking for. There is no table number nor anything about the subject matter of the order. If we could add a column stating this information it would be greatly appreciated. If necessary, you could replace the column labeled ID/Notes as these numbers are simply gibberish (no offence intended) to us at this end of your system.

  6. The clover inventory app should keep tracks of inventory coming in and going out. We want a separate option where employee can only add to the inventory system and cannot deduct without a verification code

  7. For example, customers need to be able to specify how many pumps of a syrup to add to a latte. This is a function on the POS, and it needs to be added to online ordering.

  8. Being able to filter by employee when running the sales overview from a station would be very helpful in environments when you cannot always turn off "view all sales activity" for servers and/or bartenders & do lots of paid outs or paid ins.

    Since the Homebase and Shifts reports do not account for Paid Outs and Paid Ins, it would be nice to be able to use the Sales Overview with more flexibility from the ground level.   9. Add feature to allow merchants to cancel an online order and notify the customer. They should also be able to cancel a specific item in an order and notify the customer.
    If a merchant runs out of an item or needs to cancel an order for some other reason, they need the option to cancel the order and for the customer to be notified so they do not come to the business expecting their order.

  10. Would it be possible to print out separate line item on any order that goes back to the kitchen. Example: Order has salad in it and they send out the salad first, would like the ability to just print off that and not the hold order when that is up etc.

  11. My merchant sells food the pound and is using clover with a weight scale, he would like to be able to enter manually the pounds in the clover when he is selling future orders for holidays etc... without actually weighting the product at the time of placing he order. The clover doesn't let him enter the quantity in pounds typed only coming from the weight scale... is this something Clover can do using the weight scale or there is a solution to this issue? Thank you

  12. Let's say you have items in inventory as
    (Burger Categories)
    Hamburger $1
    Cheeseburger $1.5

    (Pizza Categories)
    Cheese Pizza $2
    Sausage Pizza $3

    (Fries Categories)
    Small Fries $0.75
    Large Fries $1.50

    (Drinks Categories)
    Coke $0.50
    Sprite $0.50

    You want to create:
    Combo A (Hamburger, Small Fries and Coke) for $2 (Not combo is $2.25 total)(This is specifically set the items for the Combo)
    Combo B (Cheeseburger, Large Fries and Coke) for $3 (Not combo is $3.50 total)(This is specifically set the items for the Combo)
    Combo C (Select 1 from Burger Category, Select 1 from Pizza Categories, Select 1 from Drinks…

  13. Online Ordering Frequency would allow you to edit/limit the frequency by which customers can place online orders through your Online Ordering platform. Essentially you as the merchant are able to set the number of orders that can be placed within a specific timeframe, like in 10 Mins, 30 mins, an hour, etc

    A lot of my smaller Clover Restaurants have limited capacity to how many orders they can make at a time so during their busiest hours its extremely helpful to have a feature that allows the merchant to mitigate receiving a high number of simultaneous orders by limiting how…

  14. Allow for credit card information to be swiped without pre auth to hold open a tab. With pre auth to many chargebacks happening since some pre auths are not falling off immediately and it appears there are 2 charges.

  16. Merchants I've spoken with mentioned that color-coding employees and extending this system to open bar tabs would simplify locating a server's tab, particularly during peak hours.

  17. Please move move the updating of inventory tracking from the time the bill is paid to when the item is fired to the kitchen. If a restaurant has 5 units and all 5 are fired to the kitchen but not paid for yet a 6th unit could be added to an order even though the item is no longer available to sell

  18. Right now when I take a carry out over the phone, then click "save", rather than the order automatically printing I'm having to go into the "orders" app, click the order then click "reissue receipt". Three extra steps (time consuming) rather than just auto printing. Please, if possible, update so receipts can auto-print when saving an order.

  19. Merchant would like to be able to change the order type in the Clover dining app. Currently, it only allows the change in the Register app. This can make the order printing process confusing as it shows both the section and order type on the order receipt.

  20. Dashboard: Cannot edit item quantities in bulk, only single edits allowed unless uploaded via spreadsheet which would require existing items to be removed to avoid duplicates on the newly imported file. When selecting bulk edit, please consider an option for quantity.
