Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. On order receipt the bottom item is too close to the order number at bottom and sometimes gets missed. Need ability to format order print out ticket better

  2. Disabling employees when terminated without deleting order history/transactions from their profile - so when we transfer servers using clover dining we don’t see everyone names that was terminated who doesn’t work there and make the transfer server in clover dining with ease

  3. In the Clover Dining App, on the Bar and More tab... each tab can show the customer name, but it is valuable to also show the employee/server name here. This is valuable for bars that have multiple bar tenders, multiple bars and for called in to-go orders.

  5. Would like the ability to break up long kitchen orders into multiples. When we have have more than 3 guest, and several modifiers, the kitchen order receipt can be over 12 inches long. Would like the ability to set the number of guest per ticket and still include the table / server information on the ticket.

  6. While using virtual terminal it would be helpful to have the ability to email and/or print receipt at order end. For email, it would be to send a copy to the client and a second copy to our internal accounting team.

  8. Would like to printer order information based on Modifiers. Cook orders with their modifiers print to one printer and salads and the adds holds print to the salad printer for the waitstaff to work on.

  9. Some merchants don’t like if Order receipt fired to Kitchen has items divided by guests if the order is entered per guests. Merchants like to have the order printed without guests break down even if they key in the order per guest initially in dining.
    It would be useful if a parameter can be added to the order receipt setting to enable or disable items divided by guests to be fired to the kitchen printer.

  10. modifiers should have a percentage price adjustment that can work off of the item price. for example a liqour has a set price per shot if you want it as a mixed drink, martini, on rocks or whatever the modifer item can adjust the price useing a percentage to account for the size instead of a set price for modifier because there are many different liquors with different prices.

  11. I would like a retail version of the dining app features to use in the nail/beauty salons where they have set stations (tables). This version would be helpful to include a calendar to book appointment / schedule activities. A waitlist with texting ability would also be a benefit.
    These businesses also need to be able to split tips for services on the same bill. They currently are running the clients card several times or splitting their tips manually. This is an issue for accurate reporting, time consuming, and issue with getting their accurate tips sometimes.

  14. QR code to pay on the receipt only allows Apple pay customers. Can you please turn it on for Google pay as well?

  16. When you create a new category can we implement a color for the category? Default it to white with like 25 colors to pick from and then make that category button that color. It is a lot easier for the eye to relate to a color when in a hurry then having to read. Not to mention all of our competitors can color code buttons.

  17. I would like to be able to adjust and set the width of my columns when looking at my items list. For example, decrease the width of the tax column and increase the width of my Item Name or UPC column. I can't always read the entire name or UPC and have to take the time to click on each particular item and then click on the item name and scroll over to see the end. It's time consuming and inconvenient.

  20. When an online order comes in ..... the clover device should PING loudly and have a pop up come saying "Order Arrived"
    We expect our staff to do other tasks during their down time so they aren't always right beside the clover unit to see the order print off.
