Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Have a setting on the Clover online ordering, Clover register, Clover dining to assign items/category availability.
    For example breakfast sandwich or all items listed breakfast category can only be ordered from 7:00 AM-10:00AM
    Cheeseburger is only available to be order online from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM.

  2. We would like to see the ability for customers placing their order on COLO to be able to pay at the time of pickup rather than only having the option to enter a credit card at the time the order is placed.

  3. merchant wants to be able to put the items in the orders that he would like when he is printing the order for the kitchen printer.

  4. Ability to print the rewards codes by itself without having to print the receipt. A lot of my customers don't need their full receipt they just need the rewards. It would save a lot of paper if there was a button for rewards only next to the receipt button

  5. I have noticed that our employees has been able to delete the modification after the order has been fired to kitchen. Also, it won't show on deleted item so it is very difficult to track by just using clover app because they are able to modify the order anytime and can remove it from the system before they charge. I would like to have the system to not to erase any modifications made once it has been fired to kitchen.

  6. A much needed update would be a warm welcome when it comes to the complexity of Clover's Service Plans. Merchants should be able to switch from ANY current service plan to any other ones from their Web Dashboard, including the older Register Plan at $29.95 per month. At the moment, some service plans require the credit card processor to completely re-provision the device in order to switch plans - costing the merchant time, money, and patience. Please add this to an upcoming update, as it would be hugely beneficial when tied in to the Multi-Location Dashboard as well (All plans…

  7. when selecting the inventory from the dashboard, and a category, when scrolling through items and selecting one, then going back brings you back to start alphabetically. is there a way to return to the same section you were in, sort of bookmarking your place.

  8. When a customer orders a custom drink, and wants to order the same drink again, have a "repeat button", so you dont have to put it custom order again. Would love this is Clover Dining

  9. adding more items after check is split by guests.

    Currently if a table is being split by guests i.e. 3 guests. after guest # 1 has paid, guest 2 or 3 can't add more items to their check. Please able this option as some guest decides last minute to order something to-go. i.e. a drink or an appetizer.

  10. The title features can only be accessed from the Clover devices right now. Please make it available to the administrator to be be able to do this via the web dashboard in case employees forget to clock out or close orders after they have left the place of work.

  15. All Clover users! Vote on this one..Ability to add an upcharge either by % or flat charge total on a Category. Example the establishment wants to add an upcharge to its regular prices without the customer seeing the charge for a certain period of time for example a band from 7PM to 11PM. Most other systems can do this.

  16. Items to have a restriction times to be available for sale as an example, cookies to add time from 2pm to 4pm and to automatically not to show available after 4pm to be erased from items. Customers don't see it available after 4pm.

  18. Recently I cant see which server has opened a table. Neither can the server. Causing the wrong tables to closed out. Told to edit the floor plan and make the tables larger. our floor plan wont allow for us to make the tables any bigger than they already are. Tech support is blaming the latest update. Can you please fix.

  19. The minimum go to sleep/ screen timeout is currently 15 s, it would be nice to add 5s and 10s options.

    Merchants trying to avoid servers seating tables for other servers who forgot to log out or server seat table based on whoever used system last and is still logged in.

  20. I do not see the need to print Server Name ( Owner’s name) on order receipt + date / time stamp for Online Orders ( both Ordering.app & Clover Ordering). Those information alone take 4” of receipt space.
    Can someone look into this?
