Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. When building new items - The revenue class option should be on the main build an item screen. Makes no sense to build the item and then go back into another screen to add the revenue class. The app shows it on the main build an item screen.

  2. Please create a button to re-order the same set of items when the business uses the customer data app and a regular customer orders the same items. The app already has the information regarding what they ordered, their name, and their phone number. The business wants to pull up the customer information and just hit one button to place another order for the same items when the customer calls in instead of creating the order from scratch.

  3. We are unable, in Canada, to change from automatic closeout to manual closeout. Why??? This needs to change as our office closes different days and times/hours. With this set on Automatic closeout, we get a "grayed out" icon that we cannot closeout, therefore, we cannot get our daily totals so we can balance at the end of the night. We need to record our Visa/Mastercard/Debit totals on our own spreadsheet to determine if we balance with Clover. When is this going to be fixed in Canada? If it's available in other Countries, it should be available in Canada. We ONLY…

  4. How can we make Categories go away for certain time period ?

    For example, merchant has Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu and the prices are not the same. Since they do have such a large menu they don’t want to see Dinner menu during breakfast time or breakfast menu during dinner.

  5. The two outages have caused significant business impact. While outages cannot always be avoided, the most up to date information available should be communicated to all affected by the outage. On 3/11/23 we had an outage that has lasted five hours, yet status.clover.com reports there is "system degradation but all systems are operational". Systems are not operational, and there is very limited information on predicted time to restore system.

    There is no official social media communications except for a lot of clover businesses that are telling people to avoid clover.

  6. Change the inventory layout in the clover dashboard when clicking show more and coming back the inventory takes you back to the top and its very inconvenient.

  7. EASY =) When a selected modifier on an item is deselected and changed, keep that modifier in the order it was originally, instead of moving it to bottom of the modifier list for that item on the order ticket in kitchen.

    We lost a 3 location burger restaurant because, for ex, if their customer changed from medium to well done, it would move “well done” to the bottom of the modifier list

  8. When refunding online order through a device it puts the order status to "Pending"/"Open". After refunding online order this should enter a close status. Only way for merchants to correct is to go through Dashboard and "Delete" order as they cannot delete from device.

  9. The need to remove the "other" button on the item selection screen is very needed. We are very regulated by the state and if someone were to use this option it would be a big violation.

  10. The new upgraded version is too cumbersome. I like the old version so much better. Is there a way to go back to the old version especially in the inventory section. You have way too many clicks to do what is needed than the old version. The old version everything you need to do is on one screen and not having to click to open areas to add categories, item stock, etc. Can we have an option to go back please?

  16. If the prices of items are in Modifiers then the Clover Go, app does not recognize it.
    and gives us 0 . So the Modifier in Clover go app doesn't work which is very important for the application

  17. When using the inventory or reporting functions, I would like to be able to expand the view horizontally to see more of the details of the items. As well, I would like to be able to see all of the items in the list without clicking on "see more" over and over again.

  19. I have franchise restaurants with multiple locations. With Clover Online ordering, it doesn't support location selections. Also Clover banner should be removed from online ordering. Just like Square, they have paid version vs free version, with paid version banner is removed. Clover need to implement these features for Franchise business.

  20. The order receipt that is printed to the kitchen is confusing staff who had just switched from an older system and they are confused because the items come in as they were entered chronologically. Instead, we juts need a simple feature to "Group Categories".

    For example, Sandwiches, Sides, Etc.

    Right now, line items:

    1 Sandwich
    1 Fries
    1 Dessert
    1 Sandwich
    and so on..
