Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Star already supports a printer buzzer (model BU01-24-A) that plugs into the RJ11 jack at the back of the unit. Ideally, we could set this to print to only certain order types, namely online orders that employees wouldn't necessarily be aware of.

  2. Why is there a save button if it is gray scaled and you cannot click. If changes are made in real time there is no need for a save button.

  3. Hello ~

    My issue is I need a report for my employees end of shift report to print out the number of transactions they had for their shift. This was available before Wed April 24, 2024. The report had the subtotal of all cards (not detailed cards though) and then the tips separately, so the employees had to add these numbers together to get their total of their cards and tips.

    Since the update April 24, 2024, they add together the amounts now, but do not give the number of transactions made so they can count up their physical copies.…

  4. As a bookkeeper I have a request for an additional report that shows a monthly report with daily cash sales totals. My restaurant client makes daily bank deposits of the CASH they receive. I need to check if what they deposit matches with the cash sales according to Clover. If they deposited more or less than the actual cash sales then I need to record that in the books as cash over or short. Right now no such report exists so I have to look at each day, scroll down, write down the amount on a spreadsheet. Then the next…

  5. I have an issue with Clover duo 2nd when taking a payment from customer. Payment terminal keeps going back to tip select screen even though the customer already selects tip amount and pay with credit card. So, it makes double charge for same order most of time. This duo 2nd device is brand new, and network is super strong. How to resolve this problem? I was contacted to clover tech team, and they didn't give me the proper solution for this issue.

  6. Allow the Register app to be on the KDS so employees can take orders on it. Taking a quick order from KDS screen would greatly enhance our work flow by having our customer to wait less. It wouldn't need to accept the payments, but getting an order in the system so other employees could get started on would be a game changer. Then we could take payment later.

  7. PLEASE bring back number of sales slips and net sales for each employee
    and option for individual employee's to have a single report for their own cash out.

  8. Submitting a request for the Card Type to be put back on the Employee Overview report within the Reporting App on the device. This is an issue for restaurants!

  9. We want the ability to have the (Clover Dining) Table QR Codes to point to different menus. The use case is that when people are dining in we want to allow them to order pastries like croissants. However, if they order online via direct link to the clover menu, or 3rd party, they should not be able to order pastries. Another example would be alcohol, can't have people ordering that online, because they must be in-person to check ID.

    Perhaps there could be a separate Menu Channel for each table in Clover Dining. Or at least a separate Menu Channel…

  10. Currently, customers with international phone numbers cannot pay for their order when checking out in Clover Online Ordering. This is especially frustrating when you use the Clover Dining Table QR Codes. They put in their order, get all the way to end to pay, and it stops them, and they have to repeat entire order to a person. Please support international phone numbers for Clover Online Ordering or give us the ability to NOT require phone numbers.

  11. Merchant would like to remove tips from employee report. Currently they are able to remove it for cash report but not for employees report.

  12. I need to be able to see items sold for a given time (1 week, 1 month, 2 months) on the same report as current quantity on hand in order to accurately order new product. We order beer, wine and liquor every week and need better reporting. I am spending hours to put two reports together when someone with programming skills could easily add this category to the current report.

  13. New updates do not make logical sense for restaurants. When managing items day to day, there generally is not time to log in to the dashboard, then go through all the steps (9 I believe), just to take an item off. Additionally most employees do not have access to the web dashboard. This creates issues with items being ordered that the restaurant is out of. It would be great if industry professionals were more involved before making changes that will untimately lose merchants.

  15. Prior to last week, I could go to "Closeout" and print batch reports. The Closeout screen also gave options for printing Card Type Totals and Server Totals. As of last week, all of the print buttons automatically print all of the reports. I called customer service and found out that this is a result of a recent update. Updates should be improvements. Updates should not decrease my options.

  16. The chime that plays when an order is fired to the KDS is not loud enough. We turned up all the volume settings in the settings app, and with a noisy kitchen, it is very hard to hear. In some spots of the kitchen, I can't hear it at all. There also should be a way to change the type of chime that plays. Some chimes are easier to hear. I noticed in the settings app, you can change the chime type for notifications, but you cant for orders that fire to the KDS. Very disappointing. Hope its an easy…

  17. You recently discontinued the service plan we signed up for, and replaced it with a plan that removed a very important feature. Our servers would hold their cash sales and print a cash settlement report the end of their shift that automatically deducted their credit card tips from the cash they owed us. This was a very important feature we relied on, and you eliminated it right in the middle of a business day, with no warning. I recommend you reinstate this feature as soon as possible, or I'm sure many businesses will find other services.

  18. When adding descriptions for online items if you type anymore than 60 characters the description flows into the space between items. You can use even less characters if your item name is long or you add a picture. For ease of reading while on a mobile device the constraints in which a description can fit per item would ideally be increased. Or font sizing would help to mitigate this. Is this something that is in the works of implementing?

  19. CLOVER BATCH TOTALS SHOWING SURCHARGES FOR 2% CREDIT CARD FEES SO WE KNOW WHAT WAS A SURCHARGE AND WHAT AMOUNT WASN'T WITHOUT HAVING TO ADD ALL THE RECEIPTS.

  20. Ability to run a comparative report of servers to be able to measure detailed sales performance of each server:

    number of guests
    selectable date range
    sold entrees (count and gross dollars)
    sold appetizers
    sold liquor
    sold desserts
    display/filter on day of week
    display/filter on order entry time
