Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. When I select an item such as a latte I am then presented options such as milk type, syrups, temperature etc.

    The issue I have now if I select multiple of the same modifier such as vanilla syrup it prints out on the order ticket like this and can lead to very long order receipts:

    Latte ICED
    Oat milk
    Vanilla
    Vanilla
    Vanilla
    hazelnut

    ideally it would look like this:

    Latte ICED
    Oat milk
    3 x Vanilla
    1 x hazelnut

  2. Issue: Missing Uber Eats Item Notes in Clover

    Problem:
    Customer item notes from Uber Eats do not appear in Clover, causing inefficiencies and forcing merchants to disable notes.

  6. When using the mobile version of Clover, the screen we use most often is our Sales Overview to review sales for the day. Often this page will compare our daily numbers to numbers yesterday or last week. Now that we've been in business for 1 year, we'd like to see our numbers compared to the same day last year. I was informed by Clover Tech Support that there is no setting to change this, and that you have to use the web browser version of Clover to search this data (which is not convenient).   7. Can we please get a repeat button in the clover dining app? I don't want to give every employee the ability to delete printed items so that they can repeat a drink order without having to search for the drinks again. We can have a table full of drinks that need to be repeated and it takes time to have to enter them one by one

  8. If someone doesn't want a topping on a sandwich, then we'd like to be able to deduct that from the price so that they aren't paying for something they aren't getting anyhow. This isn't a standard practice pretty much anywhere but for our business we'd like to set ourselves apart by offering it.

  9. Merchant would like the items, categories and modifiers to be listed as they appear in the inventory app on the KDS, not how they appear now, which is the order by which the server puts in the order. This current method causes modifiers to be out of order and items to be possibly listed in the wrong order as well.

  10. PLEASE ALLOW ADMINISTRATORS WHO ARE WORKING OFF SITE AND USING THE DASHBOARD THE ABILITY TO CLOCK OUT EMPLOYEES WHO ARE STILL CLOCKED IN.

  11. Ability to add different service charge percentage or fixed fee for different sections of clover dining table mapping. Example Dine-In section 15% to go order 5% banquet hall section 10% but all sections are working tables that are simultaneously be used live in a site.

  12. When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!

    Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.

    Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.

    It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".

    Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.

  13. Clover Dining still does not have any sequenced check numbers. This is not a suggestion, this is a necessity to all restaurants that handle cash. I have been calling and posting for a while with no real regard for concern in return. Check numbers are pivotal to book keeping and making sure no one is stealing, So the lack of concern from Clover is real disheartening. All I'm being told is it can't be done, but every POS has this so I am very confused.

  14. Modifier prices and names are the same as the items listed in Items List. Merchant would like the modifiers and items to be completely independent of item list in online menus.

  16. In clover dining app there are no restrictions for employees to remove the automatic Additional Charges from an order. There should be a permission where Only admins are allowed to remove additional service charge or have manager/admin passcode approval to remove additional charges on dine-in sections only. There should be a permission approval.

    Currently there is an Operational Loss when customer is paying cash, the employee gives the bill to the customer, and customer pays in cash, some servers/employees found a loophole to remove the auto gratuity service charge in the Clover Dining app since there are no restrictions in…

  17. The merchant would like to withhold tips of 3-4% in the employee sales report . By law tips are 100% transferred to the employee, however now the merchant is paying full credit card processing fee's on tips on monies they do not keep, making this non-compliant, there can be a feature on the dashboard back office, to turn on "Tips witheld" only % displayed that will reduce their cc tips.   18. I am having to export a menu from one restaurant location and import into another location. The Inventory import only brings in the Item name and prices etc, but all information online is is not. Online Name, Description and pictures. Although pictures may be difficult to save, but i would like to suggest adding the Online name and description to the excel Sheet on export. I just expend 3 hours moving all online information from on restaurant to another when it should be added to the export sheet. All inventory is turned off inline including modifiers.   19. KDS - Multiple Courses - show all the courses and firing by prep time

    Different dishes has different prep time, therefore some 2nd course dishes need to be fired at the same time as 1st course dishes.
    Some items are fulfilled quickly and can end up getting cold (or warm) while waiting for service, and other items need more time. It slows service down.
