Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

  1. Restaurant Table Reservations:
    Allow restaurants to utilize an existing Clover Booking feature (currently available for Retail/Services plans) for online table reservations.

    Make this booking feature available a la carte in the Clover App Market as a stand-alone add-on for any SaaS plan, not just the Services plan.

    Advanced Reservation Options & Fees:

    Allow advance booking options up to one year.

    Enable the option for the merchant to apply a non-refundable or refundable booking fee at the time of reservation, which can then be applied against the customer's final bill at checkout.

  2. Offer more customization options and color choices for the Clover Online Menu.

    Provide various background type and color options, including the ability to upload a custom background image.

  3. Enable the option to add chairs to a table layout based on their actual physical position, mirroring capabilities found in other POS systems.

    Expand the available object types and shapes for designing the restaurant layout.

    Allow the vertical orientation for table/object names within the layout view.

  4. Allow the ability to assign an existing or add a new customer to a specific guest at a table directly within the Clover Dining app, rather than only through the Register app or Customer app. Guest Naming: to assign individual names to guests seated at a table.

  5. We just got dayparts for our cafes, we have breakfast and lunch menu. I need customers to be able to place future orders for lunch even though at that time of day we are serving breakfast. Dayparts does not work for online ordering if there is no function to order lunch for a future date/time.

  6. When doing shift change, we have to transfer up to 30 tables and or open tabs to one server. We have to do this individually at the moment. It takes up to much time!

  7. Having "All Items" as the default of what the customer first sees makes them feel like they have to scroll through all of the items. They do no intuitively realize they can select a category. The Categories should be the firs thing they see, and if the All Items needs to be there it should be at the bottom of the list. You could also make it as one of the things that can be customize in the layout function of the Categories. It really should not be the first thing the customer sees. For us we want our customers…

  8. Time punches can be edited from the web dashboard but the calendar picker does not allow the user to pick the previous day and only allows who hours to be selected. This is not useful to correct time when an employee forgot to clock out the previous day and/or the time is something other than the whole hour.

    Users can click into the field an manually adjust the date and time, but the date picker should either be eliminated or functionality improved.

  9. Add permission to suppress tip reporting. The data is misleading for restaurants that pool tips as the employee doesn't receipt a closeout.

  10. Expend network label printing functionality to the KDS. Make sure the label print includes custom modifiers.

  11. Set a menu and or hide menus based on device (serial number or user passcode) The idea here is for a bar to automatically to open register and see the bar menu, coat check to see the coat check menu, pool side to see the pool side menu, full service in the restaurant. This way a single account can be customize by department.

  13. Full service restaurants have the following critical issue:

    Server A accidentally closes out an order to the incorrect payment method, Manager A then refunds/voids the payment, then Server A adds the correct payment method.

    In reports, it shows that Server A has taken 2 payments and that Manager A has performed 1 refund. This corrupts both the server and manager's sales reports and tip payouts.

    Solution:
    Please add the ability to have employees without refund permissions to still refund orders with a manager code in the same way employees can add discounts to an order with a manager code and…

  14. I am a tech for a CC processing company that uses Clover but also have been a chef for 20 years. In Clover POS I can assign a color to an item, who do I contact to have that same color be reflected on that item for the KDS as well?
    Example - If I made all salad items blue when a line cook sees the color blue they know it’s a salad.

  15. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  17. It was great to add Label Printers as networked printers, but the printers aren't available on Flex and Flex Pocket. Please add as we continue to have to use 3rd party apps for label printing.

  18. Labels don't print custom modifiers of online orders as well as orders placed on Clover devices, which renders the label printing useless. Any orders with custom modifiers will not be prepared correctly. It was great to get label printers networked, but this is the next limiting factor to broad usage.

  19. Need to have a report that generates the number of guests each day related directly to each order. This helps with reporting on how much each guest is spending in my taproom.

  20. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.
