Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Clover Kiosk needs the ability to include a customer input field during the order process, allowing customers to enter either:

    A buzzer number (for merchants using pagers for pickup orders), or

    A table number (for merchants offering table tents for dine-in service).

    The field should be customizable by the merchant, with the ability to:

    Enable or disable it

    Choose the label (e.g., “Enter Buzzer Number” or “Enter Table Number”)

    Make it required or optional based on the merchant's workflow

    This would significantly improve the kiosk experience for businesses that use buzzers or table service and help streamline order fulfillment.

  2. enable Service Charge if used as auto gratuity for large parties to be part of TIP
    not part of the Service Charges so the total tip server collected can be used to calculate end-of-day server settlement with the house.

  3. In restaurants with bars, generally the server needs to tip out the bar on bar sales. We need to have a breakdown by category or revenue class available on the device. It's too cumbersome to have to go through all of the steps using the dashboard, and many shift supervisors and even managers do not have access to the web dashboard. Additionally, you want to be able to print the report and attach to server check outs to be turned in to owner or accounting or whomever. Please do this ASAP.

  4. Clover should have the options to increase the price of modifiers as well for Grubhub, Doordash and Uber menus that are integrated with Clover POS. For example all 3rd party integrations runs updates on daily basis to sync the menu which brings the price of modifiers to what is set for in store prices and costing a restaurant to not be able to cover their 25% fee from increased menu since it is getting charged at same price on Doordash etc. same as store prices if the prices of items are set with modifiers.

  5. We have a few locations that would love to be able to filter the Tips app by date.

    We have a bar that checks all tips entered the prior night for accuracy before they manually settle the batch. This helps prevent calls from customers due to tip entry errors. They would love to only see the tips from a specific date or yesterday.

  6. I would like to see a way to download a report from the Dashboard of transactions by hour. I use the CloverGo app a lot, but shows total revenue (per location). There is a way to see the number of transactions, but you have to tap 3 times to find that. A separate chart on the Go app or Dashboard would help. I prefer to see (for staffing) the number of tickets/transactions per hour. This report would be able to print daily/monthly to show sales by hour and if I need to adjust staffing.   7. The ability to turn on or off the availability of a single modifier, if a modifier runs or not available like a topping, there should be the same availability for the items to 86’ the item or make it unavailable to the modifier single item which could also translate the availability on 3rd party channel platforms and integrate the availability modifier accordingly.

  8. When there are 3rd party platform like uber, the promotions that are run in uber or other 3rd party platforms are not congruent with the reporting in Clover Reporting dashboard or app

  9. Print the full order with all courses shown. The ones to be fired are shown as prepare, the course to follow show hold. This way the kitchen knows what is coming and can plan. Then the wait staff can send a re-fire to prepare the courses when needed.

  10. I appreciate that Clover is always trying to improve. I think it would be a great idea if you had a focus group comprised of business owners and sales reps that you present to before making changes. For instance, yesterday you updated the reporting feature and eliminated the total number of transactions. Now the merchant must add the total of credit card, debit card and cash transactions to get the total transactions for the day. Yes, it is available on the web dashboard, but when managers or shift leaders are closing, they do not have access to this information. This…

  12. I need a negative variable option so I can add Lotto Paid Out and Scratcher Paid Out because using the Pay Out app has too many steps and time consuming. We sell a lot of Lotto and Scratchers and payout winners. It needs to be show up on the register, because we would have to pay the person out first before they can buy more. It would be easier to ring them up at the same time and it would tell us how much they owe or how much they need to pay.

  13. We support a very busy bar that is concerned with preventing theft. They do over 2 million in sales a year, so preventing Bartenders & Servers from deleting an item from an order all together was considered too restrictive. Turning that option on had them ready to take Clover out the next day.

    We currently have "Edit printed items without override" turned off for Servers & Bartenders in an attempt to limit theft. Unfortunately, this prevents the Bartenders from being able to select the + on a previously ordered item when a customer orders a 2nd or 3rd round of…

  14. Your tax reporting is INACCURATE.
    We need a clear way to determine meals taxes. THIS IS CRITICAL.
    Your tax statements and reports are a mess. We can not use what is in your reports as it blends POS taxes with delivery app taxes. We need a way to clearly show net sales and taxes from the POS.
    You currently show the amount collect from each order type at the bottom of your sales report. Please also add net sales and taxes for each order type.

  15. I see that this report is now available, however, will it be able to show the total cover counts for past dates? When i click on the report, it just launches me into Clover Dining and shows me the current open tables. I need this report to show me how many total guests we had on specific past dates.

  16. Options are everything! If an employee cannot have permission to perform a refund, clover should allow a manager or admin to use their fingerprint or password to allow the refund to occur under the employees own reporting. Current whomever does the refund — it goes under their reporting. We should have the permission to make it either way. All other good POS machine perform this way. Please add this feature. You have it already for discounts.

  17. Clover dining adds no additional reporting to clover. Restaurants need to know:
    1. how many guests they have served
    2. Average turn times of tables
    3. Average spend per guest/table

    All clovers main competitors provide this reporting. The information is there, so why not add a report for it?

  18. There should have an option for the order printing, each printed ticket should able to auto-cut after each item or category to allow physical separation.

    This enables both preparation of the dishes and placing the receipt under each dish for table delivery guidance.

    use case example:

    In a busy restaurant, several tables place orders for sushi items that are prepared by the same chef and printed to the same kitchen printer. For instance:

    Table A orders: Sushi A ×1, B ×2, C ×3, D ×1, E ×2, F ×1

    Table B orders: Sushi A ×2, C ×2, D ×3, E…

  19. It would be great if the Batch Close report could email to more people than just the defined "Owner". In large organizations you have a finance department that needs this info besides the manager that runs things on the daily. Should be a simple request.

  20. Following an update about three weeks ago, the ability to add a delivery address when creating a new customer within the Order app has been removed.

    Currently, they must:

    Leave the Order app,

    Go to the Customers app,

    Manually create the customer with their address,

    Return to the Order app to link the customer to the order.

    This adds unnecessary steps during busy service hours. Please consider restoring the ability to add a customer with an address directly during order entry. This was a valuable part of the workflow and its removal is causing frustration.
