Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

  1. Through Clover Dining we are currently able to apply ORDER DISCOUNTS which does just that, applies discounts to the entire table's order. We are also able to individually apply ITEM DISCOUNTS, applying discounts to the specific item(s) selected. We need to have a GUEST DISCOUNT which allows a restaurant/server to apply a discount to any items that are assigned to a specific GUEST without having to go one by one on each item under that GUEST and complete the ADD ITEM DISCOUNT feature.

  3. You should be able to close out the cash drawer mid-day by attaching it to an employee and then when they close their shift, the drawer restarts. It would be nice to be able to put a set amount in the settings that the drawer would start at and then at the end of each shift, reporting would tell you how much money should be in the drawer total including the starting balance. After the morning shift leaves, the drawer should return to that starting balance and reset for the evening shift and all open tabs could have a single…

  4. This is just a simple idea. When you click and hold and item in clover dining, you should be able to input a number of how many of that item is left and when that number goes to zero, it should grey out and appear as out of stock.

  5. When you are checking out a guest and you click pay and try to split the payment it forces you to stay on the payment screen until you complete all payments. Sometimes not all guests leave at the same time and you aren’t checking everyone out together. Granted, you can leave other tabs open by clicking the pay button under the three dots under the individual seats but it is really hard to train staff to do this consistently and we often run into issues during rush because they forget.   6. In states like Ohio, food items taken to go are not taxed. For families who dine in and then take items to go, we have to ring those items in a whole separate tab and check the customer out twice because you cannot remove taxes off a single item without removing them from the whole order. Other POS systems have a dining type modifier that is automatically attached to all items and if you click 'to go', the taxes are automatically removed and it is signified in the kitchen.

  7. Servers and bartenders who take orders should only be able to create an order if they are properly signed in. Accidents do happen where a server will accidentally use another employee's log in number and then an order is under someone else's name that is not even working.

    Servers should also NOT be able to open up another servers or bartender tab or table. This will help eliminate making a payment on the wrong guest check that belongs to another server.

  8. Clover.com > Reports > Item sales

    Along the top of this screen there are six (6) filter boxes. The rightmost box is 'Categories.' Clicking on this box reveals a drop-down menu where you can select/unselect categories to be displayed.

    It used to be that you could click this box, and it would stay open to allow you to unselect multiple categories until you were done, then click outside the menu and it would apply your filter. Now, each time you click once ANYWHERE in this drop-down menu, the menu disappears, and you have to re-open it again.

  9. It would be great to have the option to change the KDS font size larger, for both the item and modifiers. The modifiers are especially hard to read because the font is gray instead of black.

  11. Most Restaurants and Bars have multiple Shifts throughout the day. Cashiers and bartenders begin their shift with a starting cash (bank) to provide change to their customers. In established restaurants cashiers/bartenders are responsible for all cash transactions, sometimes with and without manager approval. It is a Requirement for their Shift Reports to include starting bank, cash payments, cash payouts and deduction of credit card tips.

    Currently Clover Shift Reports (Homebase) only tracks cash payments and credit card tips. That is unacceptable for most hospitality organizations.

  12. Merchant is looking for an Employee Sales Report by employee/category on the Device so that they can tip out properly. It used to be from Shifts App but Employee's need to have access to all of their Sales at the end of their shift so they can calculate shared tips with bartenders and cooks. This needs to be on the device as most employees do not have Dashboard access nor is there a computer handy most of the time.

  13. Right now, when you select a subcategory in Clover, it opens a new screen and removes visibility of the other subcategories. This slows down navigation because users have to go back each time they want to switch.
    I'd recommend keeping the subcategory tabs persistent at the top of the screen-so when a user selects something like 'Chicken Entrée, the items update below, but the other tabs like 'Pasta' or 'Seafood' remain visible. That way, users can quickly switch between subcategories without losing their place or adding extra taps

  14. I need to increase the delivery radius of DoorDash Drive to 30miles is set to 5miles. I live in Texas and everything is spread out

Merchants need the OPTION (in settings) to fire orders to the kitchen from the Clover Kiosk EITHER at the time of the order being placed at the kiosk OR when the customer walks up to the counter. Currently, only the latter is possible, and only works for a portion of merchants, with certain workflows. Please amend/update the Kiosk settings, ASAP so that merchants can both make their own decisions and we can sell more Clover. Thank you.

  16. Pizza slice shop with a line out the door needs this feature ASAP. Front counter staff needs to be able to add a name to the order for the cooks to warm up slices at the front counter and whole pizza cooks to make them in the kitchen. That name needs to be printed on order receipts in Bold. We don't need to waste time trying to lookup customers, don't need to collect their phone number nor email nor save them in the database.   17. Title: Monthly View of Daily Item Sales Performance

    Description:
    The merchant is requesting enhanced reporting capabilities to better analyze item-level performance over time.

    Currently, the system only allows users to view sales data on a day-by-day basis, requiring them to manually navigate through each individual day to review item sales. This process is time-consuming and inefficient, especially when analyzing trends over longer periods.

  18. Because of food cost going up all the time, bakeries, sometimes have a lot of waste at the of the day. We need to be able to run a report that displays date, time, and items sold. That way we could have a better ideas on when to stop baking certain items during weekdays and weekends.

  20. Add Permissions to Reporting to allow employee role to view All Cash Sales, not just their cash sales, only. We don't want them to view the entire sales report; however, they need to be able to view all cash sales to balance the drawer
