Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc.

  1. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  2. Add employee pay rate with the ability to vary by location.

  3. It was great to add Label Printers as networked printers, but the printers aren't available on Flex and Flex Pocket. Please add as we continue to have to use 3rd party apps for label printing.

  4. Labels don't print custom modifiers of online orders as well as orders placed on Clover devices, which renders the label printing useless. Any orders with custom modifiers will not be prepared correctly. It was great to get label printers networked, but this is the next limiting factor to broad usage.

  5. Need to have a report that generates the number of guests each day related directly to each order. This helps with reporting on how much each guest is spending in my taproom.

  6. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.

  7. I have had multiple table restaurants reject Clover because when they do an end of shift report, it’s not printing off each of the server sales and the adjusted tip amount so they cannot track it to make sure that servers aren’t changing the tip amounts

  8. I have ***** reps in my area in Oklahoma City that are going around poaching my Clover merchants at restaurants because they’re able to keep all of the stuff inside ***** and offer it at a lower cost than what they’re paying to add on third-party apps with Clover these features include online ordering marketing online Accounting and all these other features is there a way that we can bundle these things to make it cost-effective for Clover and not have a whole bunch of third-party options.

  9. Most of the top level restaurant per terminals have the ability to press a button to add or remove and that will bring up a pop-up option for different add-ons. This is what we need.

I have had a few restaurants that have bars included in the restaurant, and they would like to be able to have customization options on printing seats and the layout of the menu as far as categories based upon whether the device is at the bar or the devices in the restaurant we need to be able to differentiate the layout of the menu from one device to the other and we also need to be able to decide whether or not we want smart tipping or tip at the device as opposed to tip on the receipt between the…

  11. It would be beneficial to have an option to add order notes to an order after hitting pay in the Register App. This would allow merchants to go in and add a note while taking payment for an order, eliminating order bottlenecking for high velocity businesses (like counter service restaurants).

  12. With the new Station Duo, when the customer inserts or taps their card, the pre-auth/pay window does not automatically show up on the station window allowing the client to pre-auth the card, it rquires extra input.

    Thank you for your feedback on the Station Duo pre-auth capabilities. Given the card slot is only available on the customer facing device we have explicitly designed the system to require an instruction from the merchant facing device to open a pre-auth and start the customer facing device to take payment. Currently, we are not planning any changes to this workflow.

  13. The cashiers should be able to select items from catagories by looking at pictures. Not just text and color

  14. As a bakery that takes pre-orders for future fulfillment, we need the ability to enter the customer name, and date and time of pickup in a way that can be sent with the ticket to a KDS. Tickets also need to be able to be sent to different departments within the bakery, cake, bread, etc. Finally each department needs to be able to view the future orders from a daily, weekly and monthly view for planning yields, expenses, etc.

  15. I need price roll up without having to make a new modifier for additional items. Price roll-up to combine the costs of multiple items into a single line item with a consolidated price. The primary purpose is to simplify transactions for customers by hiding complex breakdowns and presenting a clean, unified total on receipts. Example; a Burger cost 10.99 and below it says
    Bacon $1.00
    Cheese $1.00
    Onions $1.00
    Mushrooms $1.00
    Avocado $2.00.

    With Price Roll Up it will show on the receipt Burger 16.99 and below it will show
    Bacon
    Cheese
    Onions
    Mushrooms
    Avocado

  16. During the entering orders quickly, if we need to cancel one and add a new item to the list, customer facing screen does not update. Deleted item does not seen on the invoice however Customer see it in his screen. Creates conflict with customers and break the trust.

  18. In the Clover app and desktop application, cash sales are not included in the first screen. Even in the batch reports, cash income has not been seen. Needed to dig in to see the actual income. Creats unsecure idea and conflicts

  19. When we press Pay, the system sends the order to the kitchen printer. Actually, in this stage, the Customer does not pay yet. We see another screen to choose a payment type, such as cash or credit card. If the customer cancels the order or add something to the order or his credit card declines, we can not control the order.
