Welcome to the Clover Retail Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Retail merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Retail space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Retail Categories.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

  1. In item sales reporting, when looking at Categories, please fix the All Categories checkbox to allow to select and DE-select all. It currently only allows you to select all and manually de-select categories. It would be easier if it worked to select and de-select all as an option when you have more than 50-100+ categories for retail.

  2. I would like to see adjustable columns on reports, the ability to add more columns in (such as current inventory in item sales reports). The ability to export to excel. We use item sales and inventory for our ordering but the last set of update has made this not useful using the web portal. We now have to go through our inventory item by item once or twice a week (with over 10k items), and hope we dont miss anything.

  3. Merchant would like to be able to see an audit trail of when an item was added to inventory, any changes made to that item (quantities, price, etc.), when items were sold and, most importantly, when an item was deleted from inventory. It would be fine if this functionality was a requested report. Merchant has multiple users with access to inventory and if one user accidentally deletes inventory there is no audit trail to see when that was done and by whom. We thought Clover might have a back end audit trail for deleted inventory items and we were told…

  4. PLEASE , I beg of you to make COST a bulk edit item, not just Price, When entering a long list from a Purchase order it is ridiculously tedious and time consuming to add each item, variants, then price and have to tap back in to every item to add cost. You HAVE to have Cost associated with Price in order to Map a COGS report . I am so frustrated with this.

  5. I have around 100 categories that I need to reference sales reports on and it used to be that I could go to the drop down and uncheck "All Categories" and then select the one I needed. Removing that option now means that I have to uncheck a hundred categories to isolate the one. Please replace the ability to uncheck all!

  6. The Clover Software really should take a priority on helping retailers with the inventory management>export>reporting features. If you all are not able to enhance this area you should really not market yourself as a solution for retailers. The fact that you can't 1. See current items in stock only, not all entries you have ever had 2. Ability to see in and out of when you add things to inventory 3. The Item export report is TERRIBLE and the column headers are not even accurate ie- Revenue detail comes through on the label column and with the latest changes the…

  8. Inventory "Manual" reduction vs. "Automatic" reduction.

    When setting Inventory to automatically track reduction when items are sold, the "Manage Availability" option is defaulted to "Manual" instead of "Automatic."
    Which means that each time a new item is added, the merchant must remember to edit and change to "Automatic." It makes no sense. It should be defaulted to "Automatic" since the Inventory setting on top left show that stock levels will reduce automatically. Can this be corrected.   9. There's already the option to add images for online views but it would be great if you could choose to show those on the physical registers as well. For some items, postcards for example, it would be easier for my clerks to simply match the image rather than trying to choose the correct description. This would also help with inventory checks if they could make sure they're counting the correct item when there's products with similar names or descriptions.

  10. Inventory Refunds/Returns need to be able to automatically add the item back into inventory. Ideally, this would be configurable at the Item level to indicate if the item is to added back to inventory upon a refund.

  11. It would be very helpful to have the ability to add/edit the "alternate name" field within the dashboard or inventory app. This currently lives in the import template file only and we use this to print our product labels.

  12. Please add the ability to associate a cost to a item modifier as that additional item has both a price and a cost from an accounting stand point. If I am adding an item (modifier) to the sale of an item, that cost needs to go up for things to be accurate and help track and improve margin numbers year to year.

  13. It would be great we could add vendor management to inventory so it's easy to see what we need to products need to be ordered in one place without having to go through the whole inventory list.

  14. Identical modifiers should have an option to be condensed in one line for each item.

    Currently, if we add the same modifier 20 times to one item, the payment receipt will list it in 20 lines making the receipt absurdly long.

    At least for non priced modifiers, it should list the same identical modifier as "x20".

    Eg. If a customer orders 20 small shirts($0) and 10 large shirts($0) 10 XXL shirts ($4.50):

    40 Cotton Shirt $xx
    20 Small $0
    10 Large $0
    10 XXL. $45

  15. Item Sales report should show ONLY the total of Categories selected, not the total of all items. And when printing, the names of categories and products don't show. Can you please fix it. The new upgrade makes all the information in a smaller screen. Can you change it back?

  17. We cannot currently reset SMS on an employee account or update the email address. When a new account is created with new information, the records are not connected.

    Request to be able to combine employee profiles. If discrepancies exist, choose which account to use the information from.

  18. Currently for Online stores for retail, there are no shipping or mailing options, there are only instore pickup and door dash delivery. This is limiting merchants from gaining shoppers because you CAN NOT turn both functions off. One must remain on or the website is turned off.

    There is not enough allowed characters for customers to put contact information.

    Categories do not have the ability to add descriptions.

    A lot of work needs to go into improving the online store especially with regard to shipping.

  19. Your marketing dept took the awards program away from me without warning. They say it is because my business code is retail cigars. Clover should not be the social police. A liquor store across the street from me has clover rewards and sales cigars! In fact if you search for cigars on the clover mobile app, many cigar retailers still show up. But no longer me. It is not fair to take away a great program because someone in Clover marketing does not like tobacco. Stick to making great POS systems and but out of social engineering. Allowing some cigars…

  20. I am not a restaurant but I have been using the "alternate name" field for over 7. years and not on the restaurant plan. Suddenly that "alternate name" field is missing. I have a lot of key information in that field. I use it for part numbers and other descriptors for over seven years now. Removing that field from an existing plan without checking how it may impact customers, was short sided. Please bring it back to the other plans. I can still search for info in that field but cannot edit. What happened? Please had that field back.
