There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

3. Recurring Payments: Share your thoughts on accepting recurring payments here. Tell us how we can improve.

  1. Change the tips section to pop up after the card has been run and before the signature.

    Or at least give the option to change the order.

    People are trained to hand their cards to the person behind the register and if its a card that swipes I have to just awkardly hold on to their card until they figure out the tip page.

    It's not intuitive the way its currently set up

  3. Merchant wants to be able that when a customer is returning an item he could scan to process a refund and also on the exchange bottom he wants to be able to choose items with different prices and see the whole inventory to pick the item the customer is asking for

  5. With the discontinuing of the Clover Merchant Keypad, the Clover Mini and Station needs an alternative way to take Pin Debit. Merchants cannot rely on having to swivel screen around or pick up and face customer every time. You will get an abundance of "Tampered" errors disabling pin debit. We need either a better merchant keypad to allow customers to enter pin on Mini(perferred) or a pin pad to allow customers to enter pin without having to move the Clover Mini around.

  6. There should be a way that we can add a custom field to a payment page. We need our customers to enter their file# (required) so that we can cross-reference their payment to the proper account. There are preset fields we can add to the payment page but we need to be able to add a custom field labeled "File #", put it at the top of the checkout page, and make it required. That value also needs to be visible on reports and the payment receipts.

  7. Be able to make customer groups and automatically apply discounts that you set for each group

    ex: Label certain customers as "military" or "employee" and automatically give discount specified to each customer type/group

  9. Merchants should get a warning when either the zip code or the address number does not match with the AVS service. This message should happen on any phone order or manual transaction prior to completing the sale. The merchant should then have the opportunity to either accept or decline the transaction (void) because of the possibility of fraud. As it is now in Clover, the merchant may not catch the fact the AVS failed especially since it does not print on the receipt.   10. some merchants are requesting for recurring payments to be able to email a link to a customer and then the customer enter the cc info and select the monthly date they want the card debited and that Our competitor Stripe has this functionality.

  11. Currently payment confirmations can only be emailed to the Business Owner's email. If employees login to take payments and email invoices under the "Owner" account, they have access to the entire merchant account and all settings, which is not secure.

  13. This would be so beneficial to those that run their businesses virtual only and do not take actual credit card numbers, adding protection and security for both parties. I am a former Stripe user and they make this super easy for merchants to set up and utilize. It also would be great if we could have payment links for recurring payments where the customer can fill out their cc information and have it saved in the system under their profile.

  14. merchants are complaining that now everytime they process a mastercard on their clover mini or flex the mastercard logo comes out on their screen and then a yellow checkmark appears and then a sound to approve the mastercard. this is delaying the process by 10 seconds its so frustrating as they are use to having a transaction get approved in less than 2 seconds, PLEASE REMOVE this new branding animation feature !!!

  16. When a customer pays with a gift card, there is no way for a customer to leave a tip. Even if there are still funds on the card, if the customer does not have cash, then the server does not get tipped.

  18. Our business would like to be able to scan or attach an item to a manual refund. We’d like the software to also register sales tax, etc on the refund as we’re currently having to do it on a calculator outside of register. Gets very complicated with larger orders. This makes sense if it were laid out identical to the “register” except total become a credit/refund to the customer rather than a sale.

  19. Merchant wants for Clover to automatically add discount when sale items are scanned (BOGO items etc)

    For "2 for 1 discounts" wants the device to be able to save duplicate SKUs (different products)
