Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

  1. When someone orders a double, I’d like to be able to just double the price of the liquor selected. Since every alcohol has a different price, my only option is to make a unique modifier for every single bottle of booze, instead of just 1 modifier that has a variable price depending on the item being doubled.

  2. Ability to add different service charge percentage or fixed fee for different sections of clover dining table mapping. Example Dine-In section 15% to go order 5% banquet hall section 10% but all sections are working tables that are simultaneously be used live in a site.

  3. Currently modifiers don't roll up into cost of goods sold. Example: Steak dinner.

    Primary selection NY steak COGS $11.

    Modifiers of potato, salad, salad dressing, the cost of goods sold for these three modifier groups don't roll up into overall cost for the steak meal.

    Result in higher gross margin which is inaccurate.

  4. Currently Payment receipts have 3 different options for modifiers.
    - Show All Modifiers
    - Show Only Priced Modifiers
    - Dont Show Modifiers

    It would be nice if Clover offered a 4th option that a lot of other POS systems do. This option would be to "Show Modifiers without Price". Essentially this will show the modifiers on each item but the up charges for each item would just accumulate to the items subtotal instead of showing them listed individually.

    For example. If I had a burger that cost $8.99 and I added an "Extra Patty" modifier for $1.50. Currently Clover's receipts…

  5. A couple of my restaurant merchants would like the option to enable an Itemized Bill to automatically print along with the Expo Order Receipts that are printed when an Online Order is placed.

    Currently there is only an option to enable the expo order receipt to print so my merchants have to go into the "orders" app to print out the itemized bill for their customer. Having a setting option where this feature can be enabled would be extremely helpful for my restaurants that run a high volume of online orders.

  6. Add a print status icon to the Clover Dining "tables" and "bar and more" items showing the print status of the table/order. Perhaps a printer logo colored red when nothing has printed, yellow when some item have printed and green when all items on a ticket have printed.

    Similarly add a kds icon perhaps displaying white for no activity, yellow for active orders, red for orders past the bump threshold and green when all items have been bumped.

    These enhancements would allow managers to quickly identify what tables/orders have fired to the kitchen and there completion progress. Takes too much…

  8. Add feature to allow merchants to cancel an online order and notify the customer. They should also be able to cancel a specific item in an order and notify the customer. If a merchant runs out of an item or needs to cancel an order for some other reason, they need the option to cancel the order and for the customer to be notified so they do not come to the business expecting their order.

  9. If someone doesn't want a topping on a sandwich, then we'd like to be able to deduct that from the price so that they aren't paying for something they aren't getting anyhow. This isn't a standard practice pretty much anywhere but for our business we'd like to set ourselves apart by offering it.

  10. Why did Clover take away the column for 'Online' in the inventory app on the device? Seems the only way to remove an item is now through the dashboard. This is not easier when a restaurant is busy. We need a way to remove (not just grey out and say "unavailable") a menu item from the online menu. It was there until a couple of months ago.

  11. We want the ability to have the (Clover Dining) Table QR Codes to point to different menus. The use case is that when people are dining in we want to allow them to order pastries like croissants. However, if they order online via direct link to the clover menu, or 3rd party, they should not be able to order pastries. Another example would be alcohol, can't have people ordering that online, because they must be in-person to check ID.

    Perhaps there could be a separate Menu Channel for each table in Clover Dining. Or at least a separate Menu Channel…

  12. Servers should only be able to see their own report, have access to only their guest checks, only see sales for current day transactions. This is a security and privacy issue

  13. In-store our clover pos allows us to select multiple identical modifiers by tapping the plus sign next to the modifier name. Example: Order of three tacos with multiple meat options where the three options can be the same or different such as three chicken tacos or 2 chicken one steak. However when a customer places an order of that same three taco entree online they aren't allowed to select multiple of the same meat choice. They are forced to select three different kind of meat.   14. Please allow employees to use the quick reorder button (plus button) to re-ring printed items such as drinks and cocktails while not being able to void items. The current setting called “edit printed items without override” does not allow you to quickly re-ring items without giving access to void items. The option is there for “delete an item from an order” but the server needs this capability turned on. The void and plus button need to be separated as settings for printed items. This is a big deal for a high volume restaurant.

  15. Recently Clover released the feature that allows merchant to reopen completed table orders. This feature has been a great addition however merchants are only able to reopen orders if the payment was made with card.

    If the payment was made with Cash or Other Tender options then the order cannot be reopened. It can only be refunded. This does cause issues because sometimes merchants incorrectly mark the payment as cash or makes a mistake during split payments.

    The reopen feature works great with card payments but we need the merchant to have the ability reopen the order and reassign it…

  16. I would like to have the ability to only show our Breakfast Category during our breakfast hours that are from 6am-12pm on our POS. Currently there is no way of doing it with setting a time. I can only do it manually and that is hard because I am not always here to do it. I would prefer something that would automatically do it once I make a schedule in the system. I also would like to have the ability to only show our late hour menu between the hours of 8pm-230am. This is a big inconvenience! Its hard for…

    Thank you for submitting this requirement to Clover. This feature has been on our roadmap and we've started working on it. We should be able to provide this functionality to you shortly, which will let you create and manage POS menus for specific times of the day.

  17. Cmon 10 years, and the Closeout app and what's in finance and deposits are not even close. (STILL).

    Every owner feels like there is foul play since the closeout report total is always different than what appears in the merchant's bank account.

  18. When are you going to bring back the ability to take items offline on the register?? What is the most frustrating thing as a busy business owner is having to pull out my phone and be the ONLY one that's able to take an item offline and be able to put it back online when it's available again. I can't have employees logging into my clover account seeing my financials just to navigate the 10 step process to take an item offline.   20. Customers need to be able to Get rewards for their Clover Kiosk purchase. Most Repeat customers are using the Clover Kiosk. ..I understand maybe not redeeming their free reward on the kiosk but at least get their points. I called clover support and they said that its not a feature at this time and to come here to post the suggestion/ request
