Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

  1. Order receipt DOTTED LINE format option doesn’t work with Star 700 kitchen printer.
    When using the Large Font along with the dotted lines, the dotted lines wrap to two lines instead of only one.

  2. Needs real running timer showing from the table layout for an efficient operation. There are many AYCE restaurants with time limits, currently Clover Dinning app only indicates tables in red at certain preset time and servers need to click each table to check the actual running time or they need to login to web dashboard to check entire tables timer at once. Thank you.

  3. Allow orders fulfillment time to last longer than 1 hour. Half of my tabs disappear, when I switch to fulfillment time from order placement time. And a lot of time is wasted keeping receipts in order.

    Would be much easier if receipts printed in order from fulfillment time, instead of order place time

  4. Until around mid-April 2024, it was possible to view a tips breakdown in the Employee Sales report on the Clover POS devices. The total tip amount for each employee was broken down into "DoorDash Dasher tips" and "Employee tips". "DoorDash Dasher tips" are tips left by customers for online orders delivered through DoorDash Drive, while "Employee tips" are tips actually received by the employee for dine-in orders. It is no longer possible to view this information on the Clover device itself, and accessing the Dashboard is now the only way to view the tips breakdown. I am not sure why…

  6. The chime that plays when an order is fired to the KDS is not loud enough. We turned up all the volume settings in the settings app, and with a noisy kitchen, it is very hard to hear. In some spots of the kitchen, I can't hear it at all. There also should be a way to change the type of chime that plays. Some chimes are easier to hear. I noticed in the settings app, you can change the chime type for notifications, but you cant for orders that fire to the KDS. Very disappointing. Hope its an easy…

  7. When adding descriptions for online items if you type anymore than 60 characters the description flows into the space between items. You can use even less characters if your item name is long or you add a picture. For ease of reading while on a mobile device the constraints in which a description can fit per item would ideally be increased. Or font sizing would help to mitigate this. Is this something that is in the works of implementing?

  8. From the register icon, if you choose delivery the prompt for address and telephone number should automatically pop up. There is never a time that you will choose delivery and not need the address. For restaurants that have younger employees-if they forget to ask for address information it creates big problems to retrieve that information.

  9. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…

  10. Allow certain items to Sync together…. For example… my client has 5 bottles of red wine, he stated about 4 glasses equals a bottle. On the menu his servers either sell by glass or sell by bottle. We want the option to be able to input 5 quantity on the bottle items but when you sell that same bottle by the glass in a different category,automatically deduct a portion of his choosing (in this case .25) on the bottle quantity category.

  11. The dayparts for menu visibility on the Clover Station Duo, Clover Solo, Mini, etc. works great, however, the dayparts do not apply to the Kiosk, which seems like a weird oversight. We need the ability for the dayparts to also apply to the Kiosk menu visibility.

  13. Most of the top level restaurant per terminals have the ability to press a button to add or remove and that will bring up a pop-up option for different add-ons. This is what we need.

I have had a few restaurants that have bars included in the restaurant, and they would like to be able to have customization options on printing seats and the layout of the menu as far as categories based upon whether the device is at the bar or the devices in the restaurant we need to be able to differentiate the layout of the menu from one device to the other and we also need to be able to decide whether or not we want smart tipping or tip at the device as opposed to tip on the receipt between the…

  15. I need price roll up without having to make a new modifier for additional items. Price roll-up to combine the costs of multiple items into a single line item with a consolidated price. The primary purpose is to simplify transactions for customers by hiding complex breakdowns and presenting a clean, unified total on receipts. Example; a Burger cost 10.99 and below it says
    Bacon $1.00
    Cheese $1.00
    Onions $1.00
    Mushrooms $1.00
    Avocado $2.00.

    With Price Roll Up it will show on the receipt Burger 16.99 and below it will show
    Bacon
    Cheese
    Onions
    Mushrooms
    Avocado

  16. In the Clover app and desktop application, cash sales are not included in the first screen. Even in the batch reports, cash income has not been seen. Needed to dig in to see the actual income. Creats unsecure idea and conflicts

  17. When we press Pay, the system sends the order to the kitchen printer. Actually, in this stage, the Customer does not pay yet. We see another screen to choose a payment type, such as cash or credit card. If the customer cancels the order or add something to the order or his credit card declines, we can not control the order.   19. NEED Tips at end of day to decipher between tips for food and regular beverages and tips for bar orders..

    So servers can tip bar on bar items handled "WITHOUT" giving bar tips on "Entire" food order ( food they serve should not be portion of tip that goes to bartender)

    NEED simpler way at the end of the day to see breakout by employee for bar tip versus food tip portion for total tips

    Ie;
    Days orders came to $1,000

    $200 of order was bar

    $800 of order was food and beverage

    Tip is 20% of the total ticket

  20. The first screen on the Clover Kiosk is "all items" and they are arranged alphabetically. This is confusing if you have several categories. Can the "all items" home screen still be organized by category? Or omit the "all items" screen and only show each category on the left hand side and have the first category be the first items that show up on the Clover Kiosk?
