Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. Please change or make available the ability to change the checkout and tip sequence on the Flex and Pocket. It should be... 1 Enter Card, 2 Select Tip Amount, 3 Sign On Screen, 4 Receipt Options. We are losing clients because others do it this way, but Clover asks for the tip before entering the card info, which restaurant owners do not like as it makes for an awkward check out.

  2. Need feature for directly pushing clover go orders to printers.

    I am taking orders from outside the restaurant using call forwarding when my team is busy! I am able to save the orders but i have to call someone at the restaurant and they will the order and push to the printer…!

    They will be busy and missing printing which leads to delayed orders and customer grievances…!

    You guys are giving that feature to third parties like doordash, uber eats, grubhub, stream.. etc.! Why cant you donit from your own app

  3. In the Dashboard on the Items list, please add pages to be able to jump forward further in the alphabetized order so we don't need to scroll all the way down and hit > countless times to get to the latter part of the alphabetized inventory items

  4. When we are beginning to run low on a product, it would be nice to turn off the item online only. A recent update took away the toggle that could disable the item online and now we can only mark it as out of stock across all menus. We'd like to turn off online first since we cannot clearly communicate low stock to online customers.

  5. We need a button in the Register app that says NO SALE that a bartender can quickly hit to open cash drawer. I have a merchant that has 7 pool tables 10 dart board machines and is constantly making change -- the way it is now is not ideal with having to enter a reason to open the drawer. The 3-4 clicks is too many for a fast pace bar that has 5 Station Solos.

    Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We are planning some updates to cash drawer workflow and will take your feedback into consideration. Bars are high pressure environments and understand the need to be able to do key actions faster. Thanks again!



  6. Currently, the Epson printer connection with the Clover POS does not allow us to limit printing to only to-go orders or online/mobile orders. As a result, labels are being printed unnecessarily, which leads to wasted supplies.

    We would love to explore adding this functionality to the integration, as it would help streamline operations and eliminate the need for additional labels going to waste.

    Please let us know if this is something that can be supported now or considered for future enhancements.

  7. Currently, the colors are assigned automatically and aren't helpful. For example, a Hot drink option button would be HOT and we would choose blue buttons for Cold drinks.

    Also, we NEED two order tickets automatically printed. we have to waste too much time pressing more options and pressing print order.

  8. Specifically targeting bars; late-night, a larger proportion of the bar staff-s time is dominated by having to close tabs, and in a crowded bar, a large amount of space at the bar is also dominated by customers waiting to close their tabs.

    Idea: QR code link to portal (Bar can post QR codes around establishment, by open-space areas, by exits, even in parking lots), customer can enter in last 4 digits of the CC they opened the tab on, and can then close out their tab via self-service, adding tip and signing, instead of having to interact with bar staff.…

  9. Full service restaurants have the following critical issue:

    Server A accidentally closes out an order to the incorrect payment method, Manager A then refunds/voids the payment, then Server A adds the correct payment method.

    In reports, it shows that Server A has taken 2 payments and that Manager A has performed 1 refund. This corrupts both the server and manager's sales reports and tip payouts.

  10. During Extremely busy periods, line cooks and expediterts have a tendency to not pay attention to order type. Sometimes "To-Go" orders get plated and have to be replated in to-go containers.

    If order types could be color coded on the KDS displays, it would help distinguish between order types and minimize plating errors.

  11. We need to be able to "rename' in the Clover Dining App tables/tickets that have multiple guests. This will help us:

    1) Make a personal connection
    2) Identify which guest ordered what
    3) Simplify the billing process when we go to collect payment

  12. Recently the Happy Hour app disabled the feature that prevents the happy hour discount from being continued past normal happy hour times. For instance if someone orders a beer that is discounted a dollar before happy hour is over and the server then reorders the item using the "+" it continues the discount...the server now has to re-ring in the item in order for the item to be at its proper price.

    Happy Hour also does not let you disable it on a specific device. For instance if we have a party going on that should not receive the discount…

  13. The Item Sales report used to have functionality to print CATEGOERIES or CATEGORIES WITH ITEMS. This functionality was available when the user clicked the PRINT link and presented with a dialog box and several options including the Categories or with or without Items.

    This option was removed this week from the Report and we would like it restored. Our ownership was accustomed to this report and the workarounds are just a lot of extra work. (Manually open/expand each category prior to printing or the export to CSV are the two suggestions we discovered before Clover confirmed that these are the…

  15. Requiring an extra kitchen receipt printer in order to print kiosk orders at the counter can be a deal breaker for fast service, compact shops like specialty coffee shops. Currently, the kiosk cannot print to the receipt printer attached to the Station Duo. In order to print remotely (the only order printing that makes sense for a kiosk), one must purchase a separate kitchen printer and set that up to receive orders.

  16. We need to be able to add Breakfast Menu Times to our Cafe hours.  Hope House Cafe.
    We use online ordering and Doordash options, but are not able to enter hours and have this option available for online ordering.

    We are currently having to manually enter and remove them daily for Breakfast Menu ITems.

  17. I would like to suggest an improvement to how Sub Categories are handled in reporting.

    Right now, it appears that Sub Categories are being reported as if they are completely separate Categories, rather than being grouped under their parent Category. This makes reporting more fragmented and less useful for businesses trying to track department-level sales.

    For example:

    Category: Bakery
    Sub Categories:

    Bread
    Pastries
    Cakes

    Currently, reports treat Bread, Pastries, and Cakes almost like separate Categories instead of rolling them up under Bakery. I believe Sub Categories should function more like organizational breakdowns within a Category, similar to how Modifiers report…

  18. Need unlimited amount of Subcategories. And also would like to be able to set up Items in the correct Subcategories on Terminals not only dashboard.

    Templet spreadsheet does import subcategories in correctly when you export and re-import that same report. It puts all Subcategories in Category.
    Needs to add a Subcategory Column on the Items tab.
