Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. Time punches can be edited from the web dashboard but the calendar picker does not allow the user to pick the previous day and only allows who hours to be selected. This is not useful to correct time when an employee forgot to clock out the previous day and/or the time is something other than the whole hour.

    Users can click into the field an manually adjust the date and time, but the date picker should either be eliminated or functionality improved.

  2. Add permission to suppress tip reporting. The data is misleading for restaurants that pool tips as the employee doesn't receipt a closeout.

  3. Expend network label printing functionality to the KDS. Make sure the label print includes custom modifiers.

  4. Communication with Engineering Team
    Once a case has been created, the communication almost completely stops. There needs to be a path to engineering for ISO's and Agents. More often then not the case is closed and is not resolved. If the engineers do not want phone calls, create a portal where the case lives once it is open. Agents can check their tickets and respond accordingly, making the process more seamless while getting the issued resolved in a more timely manner, keeping merchants happy!

  5. When a printer is deleted as an order printer it will automatically readd itself after the clover goes through a reboot. This is an issue for retail merchants that have no need for an order receipt. Clover Advanced support has informed us that this is not a bug but "a feature" and that this is the way the software is intended to work.
    I fail to see the benefit of the system changing a setting that was intentionally set. Clover needs to revert this as soon as possible.

  6. Set a menu and or hide menus based on device (serial number or user passcode) The idea here is for a bar to automatically to open register and see the bar menu, coat check to see the coat check menu, pool side to see the pool side menu, full service in the restaurant. This way a single account can be customize by department.

  7. The Condensed Report would be better condensed by removing the by employee section or at least the option to remove/exclude this detail.

  8. prioritize every item so it prints to kitchen according to item priorate, 1 to 1000

  9. Full service restaurants have the following critical issue:

    Server A accidentally closes out an order to the incorrect payment method, Manager A then refunds/voids the payment, then Server A adds the correct payment method.

    In reports, it shows that Server A has taken 2 payments and that Manager A has performed 1 refund. This corrupts both the server and manager's sales reports and tip payouts.

    Solution:
    Please add the ability to have employees without refund permissions to still refund orders with a manager code in the same way employees can add discounts to an order with a manager code and…

  10. I am a tech for a CC processing company that uses Clover but also have been a chef for 20 years. In Clover POS I can assign a color to an item, who do I contact to have that same color be reflected on that item for the KDS as well?
    Example - If I made all salad items blue when a line cook sees the color blue they know it’s a salad.

  11. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  12. It was great to add Label Printers as networked printers, but the printers aren't available on Flex and Flex Pocket. Please add as we continue to have to use 3rd party apps for label printing.

  13. Labels don't print custom modifiers of online orders as well as orders placed on Clover devices, which renders the label printing useless. Any orders with custom modifiers will not be prepared correctly. It was great to get label printers networked, but this is the next limiting factor to broad usage.

  14. solo station needs to have contactless payments - its inconvenient for the merchant and servers to not use their employee cards or fingerprint without the ability to run cards that are contactless. its forcing them to get a 3 piece equipment where it takes space but also no finger printer read or employee card reader, where servers can memorize the number by a look and have access to the terminal. this has happened with several restaurants

  15. Need to have a report that generates the number of guests each day related directly to each order. This helps with reporting on how much each guest is spending in my taproom.

  16. The primary Multi-Location user needs full grouping and group editing capabilities. For example, 17 open MIDs under one ISO with 3 MIDs in New York, 13 MIDs in Miami and 1 MID in Orlando. The user only sees 1 group titled by the MID of the HQ account with the chain code.
    so rather than
    x1234 (17) >
    the user can edit
    (no HQ or other non-processing accounts)
    (no closed accounts)
    (no accounts from non A1 Payment Processing)
    A1 Payment Processing (17) > (changes override all changes)
    Miami (13) > (changes only affect Miami MIDs)
    New York (3) > changes…

  17. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.

  18. Need the ability to re-order the modifier groups within the item. It's too difficult to re-order all of the modifiers for each item if the merchant has 30+ modifier groups. For example the merchant needs the required modifiers to show before the others in the item.

  19. I have had multiple table restaurants reject Clover because when they do an end of shift report, it’s not printing off each of the server sales and the adjusted tip amount so they cannot track it to make sure that servers aren’t changing the tip amounts

  20. I have ***** reps in my area in Oklahoma City that are going around poaching my Clover merchants at restaurants because they’re able to keep all of the stuff inside ***** and offer it at a lower cost than what they’re paying to add on third-party apps with Clover these features include online ordering marketing online Accounting and all these other features is there a way that we can bundle these things to make it cost-effective for Clover and not have a whole bunch of third-party options.
