Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. Looking to have the time shown for when each line item on an order was added and fired back to the kitchen. This could be a report, viewable on the dashboard, or to print on the receipt. Currently you can see the time on the KP tickets when it prints.

    Use example: A customer places an order with multiple items. They state it took 30 mins for the food to come out. How can the manager verify that or know if this was the server or the kitchen?

  3. 24 characters for the business name -- not enough. Please make the business name field capable of accommodating up to 30 or 36 characters. Thank you

  4. we should be able to eliminate the all item option on the Kiosk because it is a big mistake to have it as a first category on the top of the menu categories on the Kiosk, it is causing a lots of confusing for the customers because it is taking their attention away from the other categories and making them keep scrolling down on the screen especially that the items in the menu is organized alphabetically which causing the items to be spreed out randomly so on flavor of the coffee will be next of the sandwich depending on the…

  6. We need the ability to control how discounts are applied to orders. There are certain discounts that apply to food only and not alcohol. Example, Military discount as well as other promotions we may be running through various advertisements. Currently, when creating a discount there are no control options for how the discount is applied. We would like to have an option to apply it to specific item labels or revenue classes, categories, menus, or even specific items. Another example would be a coupon we send out for 15% off your meal.   7. The first screen on the Clover Kiosk is "all items" and they are arranged alphabetically. This is confusing if you have several categories. Can the "all items" home screen still be organized by category? Or omit the "all items" screen and only show each category on the left hand side and have the first category be the first items that show up on the Clover Kiosk?

  8. 1) Be able to submit emails to admins/managers when inventory is below a certain count on an item

    2) Allow certain items to Sync together…. For example… my client has 5 bottles of red wine, he stated about 4 glasses equals a bottle. On the menu his servers either sell by glass or sell by bottle. We want the option to be able to input 5 quantity on the bottle items but when you sell that same bottle by the glass in a different category,automatically deduct a portion of his choosing (in this case .25) on the bottle quantity category.

  9. Cmon 10 years, and the Closeout app and what's in finance and deposits are not even close. (STILL).

    Every owner feels like there is foul play since the closeout report total is always different than what appears in the merchant's bank account.

  10. Add the cash rendered amount to the column header in Sales Activity > Transactions report so we can easily identify potential theft or expectations for the till at shift changes. Or offer the ability to customize the headers of the Sales Activity reports like we can with Inventory

  14. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.

  15. I have clients who would be interested in being able to have their business logo displayed on the devices lock screen and/or background. This could apply to any of the devices really but this client specifically has a Mini. Especially for the Clover Duo this would establish a presence for the brand and this makes the business seem very official.

  16. Problem: The customer-name field in the ordering flow currently accepts letters only. I want to enable a numeric-only option (or a numeric-mode toggle) so customers can enter numeric identifiers (e.g., 1–50 digits) instead of their name. We cannot shout out customer names in the restaurant to look for them.

    Proposed change: Add a mode toggle (Name mode vs. Numeric ID mode). In Numeric ID mode, the input accepts digits 0–9 only, with validation for length (configurable, e.g., 1–50 digits). This will make bringing out food to customers table easier since they can be found by their number on top of…

  17. The biggest thing that we find lacking with Clover is a Pizza Builder Function. Having Pizza size prefix's choices that show in front of the item name instead of a modifer, listing below. Currently the size is done as a modifier or separate menu item buttons, a prefix choice could make ordering much smoother and order receipts much easier to read. Also, modifier groups that can be priced according to the size or half topping choice, instead of having multiple modifier groups for whole topping, left side/1st half, right side/2nd half.   18. Online orders fire expo tickets and kitchen order tickets immediately when placed even if that is days in the future. This activity requires the kitchen to archive future orders and physically manage order tickets based on pickup time.

    Online aggregators are firing orders based on prep time and pickup time making them much more efficient. Any kitchen using kitchen printers and/or 3rd party kds has to stay with the aggregators because of this limitation.
