There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

3. Recurring Payments: Share your thoughts on accepting recurring payments here. Tell us how we can improve.

4. Invoicing: Is there any functionality that can be added to our systems to enhance the invoicing feature? Put your ideas in this forum category.

  1. Using the discounts app be able to have a specific discount but choose a variable amount. Essentially custom discount amount but have a set category so it’s traceable.

  2. You have the alphabet under the number for the merchant pin area but no alphabet under the numbers for the customer Pin number. Please add, People have a word they use for a debit/credit pin password.

  3. When running bogo 1/2 off sales which we do daily, Clover software doesnt work. If the customer is bringin back the higher price item from the BOGO 1/2 off sale, the refund only know to either issue the full dollar amount for that. It should be far less because a customer should never be allowed to get a free t shirt at half off. Please fix! It's so time consuming having to caluclate on the side the dollar amount we then have to issue as a manual refund. Inventory is also off at that point too because there's no log…

  5. It is very awkward, presumptive, and feels like bad manners to hand the Clover Flex device to a customer after a spa service and the first and only thing they see is the tip screen. Sometimes customers appear to be taken aback by this as tips are supposed to be a gratuity (not expected as I was always taught) By handing them the device with that tip screen as their first interaction with processing their payment, it is startling. I believe that having the signature line on the same screen as the tip screen is more polite and encouraging because…

  8. Restaurants would like an option to be able to be able to leave gift card remainder as a tip to the server. This is a common occurence when only a few dollars is left on a card, the customer typically suggests to the restaurant to keep the card and simply use it the balance to tip in addition to any other gratuity left.

  9. When a customer pays with a gift card, there is no way for a customer to leave a tip. Even if there are still funds on the card, if the customer does not have cash, then the server does not get tipped.

  11. I want the option to apply discounts on specific items or categories for a specified date range and have it available to everyone
    (no loyalty, coupons, etc, just a plain old sale for whoever walks in my store). Similar to happy hour app, but be able to choose a date range to run the promotion,

    Ex: 10% off accessories this week

    (have it apply automatically so that i don't have to manually discount every accessory that someone buys)

  12. Be able to make customer groups and automatically apply discounts that you set for each group

  14. If I have an employee that adds a weighted item with too many zeros and then closes it out, I cannot void the closed ticket. Say she weighs our item and accidentally puts in 1000 lbs = $10,000 and then cashes it out to cash. We as owners should be able to delete and void that frivolous mistake. Or say a disgruntled employee cashes it out for 1mil. We should have the right to VOID said transaction

    Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities. Once an order is closed, only a Refund can be executed against them, not a void.

  15. FastPay to have a $20 option, since this is what most people pay with.

    Currently, if there is a low ticket price items (ie. $4, there is only a few options, the closest denominations to $4, but no $20)

  16. Allow merchants to comp (give away a free meal) in the register app. This will allow merchants to track any food that is given away for free. With every comp ask for a reason why the meal was comped.

  17. Customize Sales Tax
    The store should be able to set the luxury tax for some products.
    For some products, the sales tax only comes from which is above a certain price.
    Or the system should have automated tax rate based on locations.

    Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities. We would recommend that merchants void transactions in this case. There are upcoming enhancements to our void/refund workflows.

  19. "All Done" prompt when the back button is selected on tip prompt.

    Customers have walked out by pressing the back button on the tip screen. The message is the same message that is prompted when a sale is done. It is very confusing and much harder to track the customer in a fast paced environment. Much like a busy bar or a night club.   20. Is there a way to save the customer's credit card info whenever they make a purchase? Merchant has a small business and her customers are repeat, so having the card info on hand in the records (even if it only shows the last 4 digits) would be very convenient. She could just pull up the records and select the card she wishes to use when the customer comes in again.
