Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc.

  1. Currently the default option is set to condensed reporting, merchant would like an option to have it default to a full report which is not available at the moment.

  2. Allow for Special Instructions on Online Ordering to be optional. Customers are taking advantage of asking for additional items on food, and employees are having a hard time figuring out if items that customers are listing under special instructions have been paid for or are needing payment collected. I tried to turn this Special Instructions off myself and there is no option to do so. I also called in to Clover to ask Tech Support to turn it off for me, they said this option is not optional to have removed.

  3. Please move move the updating of inventory tracking from the time the bill is paid to when the item is fired to the kitchen. If a restaurant has 5 units and all 5 are fired to the kitchen but not paid for yet a 6th unit could be added to an order even though the item is no longer available to sell

  4. The cashiers should be able to select items from catagories by looking at pictures. Not just text and color

  5. The dayparts for menu visibility on the Clover Station Duo, Clover Solo, Mini, etc. works great, however, the dayparts do not apply to the Kiosk, which seems like a weird oversight. We need the ability for the dayparts to also apply to the Kiosk menu visibility.

  6. A merchant has the QR clover online ordering in a food truck space where there many food trucks parked. The facility has their online clover website in their main website. When their customer is using their clover online ordering platform for pick up the clover KDS doesn't send a sms that the order is ready for pick up and Kiosk works. They would like the clover online ordering website hosted by clover for pick up orders to also be able to send sms text like the Kiosk from Kitchen Display

  7. Currently, the Epson printer connection with the Clover POS does not allow us to limit printing to only to-go orders or online/mobile orders. As a result, labels are being printed unnecessarily, which leads to wasted supplies.

    We would love to explore adding this functionality to the integration, as it would help streamline operations and eliminate the need for additional labels going to waste.

    Please let us know if this is something that can be supported now or considered for future enhancements.

  8. We are so excited to see that Itemized invoicing & invoice tip suggestions have started to roll out!

    Are there plans to make it possible to add an auto gratuity to an invoice before sending?

    We work with a merchant that needs the ability to add an auto gratuity line item on some of their catering invoices. They said that some large clients always tip 15% & anticipate that the 15% will be included as a line item on the invoice already. They would like the option to still add a tip before sending, as needed.

  9. In the dashboard, have a report that will tell you how many cover counts by hour. There is an existing sales report, but it does not show how many guests were served.

  10. Many multiple locations are under different legal corps but maybe the same owner or franchisee. Setting up multi location permission settings rather than being able to copy or close them takes a long time for a merchant to setup and delays implementation.

  11. Inventory currently has the ability to have labels and categories when sending it to an assigned kitchen printer. It would be very helpful if we could also give each item a "priority" in which it is printed on the ticket.

    If a customer wanted to turn on a feature that allowed them to also give those items a priority would make things much smoother in a kitchen that only has a single kitchen printer.

    For example:

    Inventory items currently have the ability to be categorized. When assigned to a category, you can also assign a Priority level.

  12. The KDS has been a great addition for us. We would love to see a button on the main screen to toggle between the 5 ticket view and the 10 ticket view rather than having to go to the settings and change it there. To be able to just click a button on the main screen to change that would be AMAZING and save time in a fast paced environment like we have.

  13. When a server is assisting a table that has multiple guest and one of the guest leaves early and pays their tab, the system prompts for all the remaining guest/table to pay out their order, otherwise the table is locked and no other edits can be done. Can we make an enhancement to where the table can still order, etc?

  14. Please allow employees to use the quick reorder button (plus button) to re-ring printed items such as drinks and cocktails while not being able to void items. The current setting called “edit printed items without override” does not allow you to quickly re-ring items without giving access to void items. The option is there for “delete an item from an order” but the server needs this capability turned on. The void and plus button need to be separated as settings for printed items. This is a big deal for a high volume restaurant.

  16. Enable printing the dining table name on the credit card payment receipt's merchant copy. This is helpful to the merchant as their servers share tips with the chefs at tables from certain dining rooms. This feature was available in the previous version, but is no longer available after replacing the Clover Station.

  17. We need to be able to "rename' in the Clover Dining App tables/tickets that have multiple guests. This will help us:

    1) Make a personal connection
    2) Identify which guest ordered what
    3) Simplify the billing process when we go to collect payment

  19. The first screen on the Clover Kiosk is "all items" and they are arranged alphabetically. This is confusing if you have several categories. Can the "all items" home screen still be organized by category? Or omit the "all items" screen and only show each category on the left hand side and have the first category be the first items that show up on the Clover Kiosk?

  20. Allow prices (VIA modifier) to be increased by a percentage vs flat dollar amount. For example, double liquor drink orders, etc.
