Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. For example, customers need to be able to specify how many pumps of a syrup to add to a latte. This is a function on the POS, and it needs to be added to online ordering.

  2. Cmon 10 years, and the Closeout app and what's in finance and deposits are not even close. (STILL).

    Every owner feels like there is foul play since the closeout report total is always different than what appears in the merchant's bank account.

  3. Employees need to be able to have more than one role assigned. Again for accounting purposes. Every Restaurant has employees that work multiple roles. That way when I print out an employees hours to pay them Im able to see the role they clocked in as.

  4. As a bookkeeper I have a request for an additional report that shows a monthly report with daily cash sales totals. My restaurant client makes daily bank deposits of the CASH they receive. I need to check if what they deposit matches with the cash sales according to Clover. If they deposited more or less than the actual cash sales then I need to record that in the books as cash over or short. Right now no such report exists so I have to look at each day, scroll down, write down the amount on a spreadsheet. Then the next…

  5. Currently the default option is set to condensed reporting, merchant would like an option to have it default to a full report which is not available at the moment.

  6. for online orders you need to be able to schedule holidays in advance so that you don't have to manually turn online orders on / off - which can lead to owners or staff forgetting to turn it back on - you should be able to add a 'holiday' schedule for online ordering

  8. As part of our catering operations, we need the ability to view OPEN Orders that were entered at least 12 months in the past. We’ve been using the Clover system for four years, and until September 2024, we could access all open orders regardless of their age. However, we are now limited to viewing open orders that are 30 days old or less.

    This limitation creates significant challenges for our catering business. When customers call to make changes to catering orders placed more than 30 days ago, we’re unable to view or modify those orders in the system. Instead, we…

  9. If someone doesn't want a topping on a sandwich, then we'd like to be able to deduct that from the price so that they aren't paying for something they aren't getting anyhow. This isn't a standard practice pretty much anywhere but for our business we'd like to set ourselves apart by offering it.

  10. I have a Bepper system that works in my Food Court. The Kiosk must have an option where the customer has the option of taking a number and that it also appears printed on the ticket as an identifier of the order if the customer decides not to give their phone number for privacy reasons in order to locate them within the Food Court (8 restaurants and 30 tables).

  11. INVENTORY NEEDS TO UPDATE THE SECOND A SERVER ORDERS AN ITEM. SO THAT THE SECOND SERVER BEHIND HIM IMMEDIATELY KNOWS THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE INVENTORY. INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THE BILL TO BE PAID FOR FOR INVENTORY TO UPDATE IN THE SYSTEM.

    RIGHT NOW INVENTORY UPDATES ONLY AFTER THE CUSTOMER PAYS FOR THEIR BILL.

  12. Add Extra Categories to the main category Ex:
    I have a category called (Coffee Bar) I need to be able to split this category into Cold Coffee and Hot Coffee then inside this categories comes the items and it is important to be this way instead of me have to set the Cold Coffee and the Hot coffee as Items and the coffee flavors as Modifiers because in this way I will loose the capability of adding photos to the coffee flavors on the Kiosk and the capability to specify each coffee flavor with it's own modifiers. or I have…

Online Menu on Google Suppose to be on the top of the online ordering list and it suppose to be named with the restaurant name, because our online list start with Grubhub and seamless and doordash then Order Clover so Order Clover has to be the first then it is better to call it with the restaurant name because a lots of customer does not know what Order clover means and they think it is another ordering company instead of knowing that is our direct online ordering especially that it has our original prices comparing to other online ordering companies…

  15. We need a way to close a drawer during a shift that only batches the drawer we are closing!

    For instance, I have two pos Stations with the same MID #. If I count down or close one drawer to start a new shift, and batch it so someone else can use it, It also batches the other drawer at the same time. There is no way to separate one drawer from the other.

  17. Allow Admin to enable/disable a staff member to add/remove service charge. While it is imperative to have the system restrict removing the service charge due to operational loss. In certain environments its required to add a service charge at odd hours of the day depending on the order. We need to be able to restrict the addition or removal with the admin code

  18. Posting 2 ideas that are needed
    1. I offer rolls, where each roll is $8. However if a patron purchases 2 rolls, i want to offer it for $15. The rolls (or any menu item), needs to have a combiner option to push through deals that pushes sales higher
    2. The menu also offers meals, which is a roll, fries and a drink (coke, sprite etc) for $12, i want to able to offer a customer to replace this drink with a milkshare for an additional $2, to get the total to $14. Again an upcharge oppurtunity to push sales…

  20. The terminal allows you to view open order or partially paid orders but not at the same time. You should be able to check off in the filters which items you would like to see.
