Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  2. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.

  3. I have clients who would be interested in being able to have their business logo displayed on the devices lock screen and/or background. This could apply to any of the devices really but this client specifically has a Mini. Especially for the Clover Duo this would establish a presence for the brand and this makes the business seem very official.

  4. Problem: The customer-name field in the ordering flow currently accepts letters only. I want to enable a numeric-only option (or a numeric-mode toggle) so customers can enter numeric identifiers (e.g., 1–50 digits) instead of their name. We cannot shout out customer names in the restaurant to look for them.

    Proposed change: Add a mode toggle (Name mode vs. Numeric ID mode). In Numeric ID mode, the input accepts digits 0–9 only, with validation for length (configurable, e.g., 1–50 digits). This will make bringing out food to customers table easier since they can be found by their number on top of…

  5. The biggest thing that we find lacking with Clover is a Pizza Builder Function. Having Pizza size prefix's choices that show in front of the item name instead of a modifer, listing below. Currently the size is done as a modifier or separate menu item buttons, a prefix choice could make ordering much smoother and order receipts much easier to read. Also, modifier groups that can be priced according to the size or half topping choice, instead of having multiple modifier groups for whole topping, left side/1st half, right side/2nd half.   6. Online orders fire expo tickets and kitchen order tickets immediately when placed even if that is days in the future. This activity requires the kitchen to archive future orders and physically manage order tickets based on pickup time.

    Online aggregators are firing orders based on prep time and pickup time making them much more efficient. Any kitchen using kitchen printers and/or 3rd party kds has to stay with the aggregators because of this limitation.

  9. We would you like to know time between when an order is placed and when it is marked as fulfilled or completed. This will help improve customer satisfaction but also can be tool for training and promotion.

  10. 'Signature & Tip Location' on BOTH device, and receipts. Businesses that run volume through transactions via a customer queue line/station need to be able to occasionally print receipts for this.

    Thank you for your suggestion. We do have plans to deliver these capabilities in q1'26.

  11. We are paperless and do not print receipts. The only option we want to show on the forward/customer facing kiosk is "No Receipt, Email Receipt, Text Receipt." There should be an option to customize what options we offer for receipts.

  12. Need a option/process to track Courtesy/Spills in Restaurant/Bar environment to account and report for these items, with out it affecting the sales numbers on the reports. Once the order is open & printed to Kitchen/Bar and an event occurs to the order and it is declared a loss/spill or courtesy. The order will remain unpaid and declared a loss/courtesy, it needs to appear on daily report and be tracked weekly/monthly/annually for reporting to government agencies. Specially on liquor.

  13. In restaurants with bars, generally the server needs to tip out the bar on bar sales. We need to have a breakdown by category or revenue class available on the device. It's too cumbersome to have to go through all of the steps using the dashboard, and many shift supervisors and even managers do not have access to the web dashboard. Additionally, you want to be able to print the report and attach to server check outs to be turned in to owner or accounting or whomever. Please do this ASAP.

  15. Can we please add an option in the Order Receipts to have as optional to add the vehicle description for curbside pickup. I know you can add it under notes but notes are used for other information.

  16. Hello, with the situations with the restaurants, specially with mine, I am always short staffed for the past few months. This means, many customer calls are missed while our staff is serving dine-in customers. So, the idea is to route all the calls to our remote staff who can take all the orders from the customers and place the orders remotely via clover app. This way, if the customer calls are handled, then the staff onsite can take care of the dine-ins. I understand there few prep works and coordination needed, but that's doable than loosing the business itself

  17. Add a print status icon to the Clover Dining "tables" and "bar and more" items showing the print status of the table/order. Perhaps a printer logo colored red when nothing has printed, yellow when some item have printed and green when all items on a ticket have printed.

    Similarly add a kds icon perhaps displaying white for no activity, yellow for active orders, red for orders past the bump threshold and green when all items have been bumped.

    These enhancements would allow managers to quickly identify what tables/orders have fired to the kitchen and there completion progress. Takes too much…

  19. Clover Dining still does not have any sequenced check numbers. This is not a suggestion, this is a necessity to all restaurants that handle cash. I have been calling and posting for a while with no real regard for concern in return. Check numbers are pivotal to book keeping and making sure no one is stealing, So the lack of concern from Clover is real disheartening. All I'm being told is it can't be done, but every POS has this so I am very confused.

  20. On the printed Order Receipt/ Expo Receipt, please allow us to modify the header, so that it doesn't just say "Clover Online Shopping Pickup." We attach these receipts to customer orders, so would like to be able to put our brand name (and logo!) on the header.
