Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.



Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc. 

Menu: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

  1. Allow the Register app to be on the KDS so employees can take orders on it. Taking a quick order from KDS screen would greatly enhance our work flow by having our customer to wait less. It wouldn't need to accept the payments, but getting an order in the system so other employees could get started on would be a game changer. Then we could take payment later.

  2. Submitting a request for the Card Type to be put back on the Employee Overview report within the Reporting App on the device. This is an issue for restaurants!

  3. From the register icon, if you choose delivery the prompt for address and telephone number should automatically pop up. There is never a time that you will choose delivery and not need the address. For restaurants that have younger employees-if they forget to ask for address information it creates big problems to retrieve that information.

  4. Merchant would like to remove tips from employee report. Currently they are able to remove it for cash report but not for employees report.

  7. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…

  8. Prior to last week, I could go to "Closeout" and print batch reports. The Closeout screen also gave options for printing Card Type Totals and Server Totals. As of last week, all of the print buttons automatically print all of the reports. I called customer service and found out that this is a result of a recent update. Updates should be improvements. Updates should not decrease my options.

  9. When adding descriptions for online items if you type anymore than 60 characters the description flows into the space between items. You can use even less characters if your item name is long or you add a picture. For ease of reading while on a mobile device the constraints in which a description can fit per item would ideally be increased. Or font sizing would help to mitigate this. Is this something that is in the works of implementing?

  10. Currently modifiers don't roll up into cost of goods sold. Example: Steak dinner.

    Primary selection NY steak COGS $11.

    Modifiers of potato, salad, salad dressing, the cost of goods sold for these three modifier groups don't roll up into overall cost for the steak meal.

    Result in higher gross margin which is inaccurate.

  11. CLOVER BATCH TOTALS SHOWING SURCHARGES FOR 2% CREDIT CARD FEES SO WE KNOW WHAT WAS A SURCHARGE AND WHAT AMOUNT WASN'T WITHOUT HAVING TO ADD ALL THE RECEIPTS.

  12. CLOVER INTEGRATION WITH UBER EATS

    Multiple selections
    Can customers select the options more than once?

    UBER EATS OFFERS THE OPTION TO CUSTOMIZE THE RULES OVER THE CHOICE OF AN EXTRA ITEM, BUT CLOVER DOES NOT.

    THIS MEANS THAT MY CLIENTS CANNOT SELECT MORE THAN 1 TIME AN EXTRA. IT ONLY WORKS IF I ENTER EVERYDAY AT EATS MERCHANT AND ACTIVATE THE OPTION OF "How many times can customers select any single option?"

    THIS HAS TO BE FIXED. TKS

  13. When accounting sync is enabled in Clover to QuickBooks Online, all the day total sale is posted as Clover Sale. We would need to have each sale posted to the particular client and it also should include the item ordered

  14. In the order screen, there is nothing to tell the server which order is the one they are looking for. There is no table number nor anything about the subject matter of the order. If we could add a column stating this information it would be greatly appreciated. If necessary, you could replace the column labeled ID/Notes as these numbers are simply gibberish (no offence intended) to us at this end of your system.

  15. The clover inventory app should keep tracks of inventory coming in and going out. We want a separate option where employee can only add to the inventory system and cannot deduct without a verification code

  16. We have a 3rd party running our food & beverage. They need access to enter inventory and pull reports. I'd like to have an option that they have access to just food & beverage categories as opposed to seeing our full facility sales

  17. KDS Merchant request-can we turn off the sleep mode. If the KDS goes to sleep they may miss an order popping up.

  18. I have a Clover mini Gen2. I upgraded to a Gen3. Now the new Gen3 printer receipt sounds really choppy and seems a little bit slower. I have both machines side by side doing a test print. I even share the sound to the Tech Support Assistant who is online speaker phone to hear both of them do a test print.

    The new Clover Mini Gen3 printing is not smooth like the old mini GEN2. The sound is choppy and louder and does NOT print smoothly when it comes out of the thermal printer. Is it really supposed to sound…

  19. Guest screen should have equipment to be able to pivot / spin so that the customers aren't able to view what the counter is ringing in (for example, when another guest's tab is open).
    This wouldn't be necessary if we could instead choose when the guest can view the screen. For example, only view once business hit's "Pay"
