Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. Dayparts is currently applicable to "In Store (POS devices)" only. Make Dapyparts applicable to Online Ordering and 3rd Party Ordering (Doordash, GH, UE etc).

    This will enable to have menus available at specific day/time for online ordering too, in line with the In Store (POS devices) that's available currently.

  2. When we take catering order via phone or email or even in-person, we need the ability to specify the date and time of the delivery or pick-up, and this can be in the future a few days or a few week later.

    Additionally, if we can also have an option to specify up the prep date, that will be helpful, so, the orders can show up on top of the order list and print the kitchen ticket, on the day of the preparation.

  3. MODIFIERS: ADD COSTS SO WE CAN GENERATE ACCURATE PROFIT REPORTS!!!

    As of now, we can only add a cost to an item. If someone wants to change a size, add an ingredient, etc that costs extra, we have no way for that to reflect on the cost of the item which makes the profit reports useless. I was told that the only work-around is to turn every single modifier into an item button, which would be incredibly tedious and will not work for a busy cafe.

  4. We recently added Scan to Pay at our location. The feature is receiving positive feedback from both staff and guests. However, the QR code only prints when printing a full table bill. No QR code prints when splitting the check. The QR code was a plus for me, as an owner, because we do a TON of large groups with split checks and this speeds up efficiency in check out: potentially reducing future labor costs.

    We have a work around for now, but it's clunky and time consuming. For any other full service restaurant owners facing this issue, we are

  5. custom items do not print order docket in clover dining app. This means my orders and not made and customers do not get their order. Fix needed

  7. It would be helpful to be able to assign a different default order type to each register rather than having to choose the order type every time. For example, a drive thru register could be set to Drive Thru as a default order type to help minimize mistakes in the kitchen.

  8. Hello-

    I'm working with a Cafe that is requesting a feature to print individual item tickets to the Order Printer. IE: Ring up a Latte & Espresso. Right now they print together to the order printer. They would like the Latte to print one 1 ticket, and the Espresso to print on the next.

    For cafes this feature would be instrumental as they would be able to serve the coffees with the matching individual Order ticket, as opposed to the entire order ticket.

  10. The printer setup needs a setting to be able to have each Item print out separately instead of having them all print on one bill and adding a line below each print. There is an APP name smart print that allows you to do that on the clover app Market but that APP has way too many bugs.

  11. I have had multiple table restaurants reject Clover because when they do an end of shift report, it’s not printing off each of the server sales and the adjusted tip amount so they cannot track it to make sure that servers aren’t changing the tip amounts

  12. Most of the top level restaurant per terminals have the ability to press a button to add or remove and that will bring up a pop-up option for different add-ons. This is what we need.

I have had a few restaurants that have bars included in the restaurant, and they would like to be able to have customization options on printing seats and the layout of the menu as far as categories based upon whether the device is at the bar or the devices in the restaurant we need to be able to differentiate the layout of the menu from one device to the other and we also need to be able to decide whether or not we want smart tipping or tip at the device as opposed to tip on the receipt between the…

  14. I need price roll up without having to make a new modifier for additional items. Price roll-up to combine the costs of multiple items into a single line item with a consolidated price. The primary purpose is to simplify transactions for customers by hiding complex breakdowns and presenting a clean, unified total on receipts. Example; a Burger cost 10.99 and below it says
    Bacon $1.00
    Cheese $1.00
    Onions $1.00
    Mushrooms $1.00
    Avocado $2.00.

    With Price Roll Up it will show on the receipt Burger 16.99 and below it will show
    Bacon
    Cheese
    Onions
    Mushrooms
    Avocado

  16. In the Clover app and desktop application, cash sales are not included in the first screen. Even in the batch reports, cash income has not been seen. Needed to dig in to see the actual income. Creats unsecure idea and conflicts

  17. I would like to be able to adjust each section and where it appears on the ticket. I own an elixir bar, which is like a coffee shop, and I do not want the table information on the top of the ticket; I like the customer's information on the ticket, and I would like to be able to make the customer's name bold so that it stands out.

  18. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.

  19. We are paperless and do not print receipts. The only option we want to show on the forward/customer facing kiosk is "No Receipt, Email Receipt, Text Receipt." There should be an option to customize what options we offer for receipts.

  20. Please add a clock to the KDS screens so the kitchen staff can always easily know what time it is just by glancing at the screens. My screen shows the time as a screensaver when it’s slow, but when we’re busy we just see the tickets with no way to know what the current time is.

    This is useful for rake/out orders that a setup for a specific pickup time. Example “Susan 7:15pm pickup” I should be able to look at the screens and have a small clock somewhere so I can easily keep track of time.
