Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. I need the option to disable the use of passcodes. At my restaurant, we operate using employee cards, which are currently only used by managers. However, I need to remove the requirement for managers to use passcodes. Additionally, we need the new Clover devices to be enabled to accept employee cards as well.

  2. I need to have a report that shows the exact time each item is entered, even if it’s going to the same table. Clover has a “line item” feature, but if I add 3 margaritas at different times, it only shows the time of the first margarita.

  3. Disable Checkout for Dine-In QR Code ordering. We would like to disable the feature for customers to Checkout for Dine-In QR Code ordering so our servers can process the payment for them. This creates some confusion because we don't know when someone has paid for their tab already.

  4. Currently you can Group line items for "order receipts" but this does not Group line items when printing to a Kitchen Printer. It comes out like this

  5. The updated 3Gen Solo device does not feature a tap or apple option like the 2Gen did on the printer. Why not set up the Flex device to have the same capabilities as a Mini device does but used at the drive thru widow? Then we can actually extend the device to the customer to tip and tap right out the window.

  6. Give admin access to devices and printer. Why was it removed? If there are 3 owners to a business, you expect them to share 1 main account with 2-factor logins? Not sure why Clover keeps messing things up.

  7. PLEASE put time clock back on the website dash board under Employees menu!!! It is cumbersome to find and get to. We don’t process payroll from the station at the restaurant we process it from the office. This was an inefficient change since you have to go through so many clicks and wait for so many pages to load just to click through to the time clock app you are using. Especially if you are in a remote area with poor internet service. Thank you!

  8. My merchant sells food the pound and is using clover with a weight scale, he would like to be able to enter manually the pounds in the clover when he is selling future orders for holidays etc... without actually weighting the product at the time of placing he order. The clover doesn't let him enter the quantity in pounds typed only coming from the weight scale... is this something Clover can do using the weight scale or there is a solution to this issue? Thank you

  10. Online Ordering Frequency would allow you to edit/limit the frequency by which customers can place online orders through your Online Ordering platform. Essentially you as the merchant are able to set the number of orders that can be placed within a specific timeframe, like in 10 Mins, 30 mins, an hour, etc

    A lot of my smaller Clover Restaurants have limited capacity to how many orders they can make at a time so during their busiest hours its extremely helpful to have a feature that allows the merchant to mitigate receiving a high number of simultaneous orders by limiting how…

  11. Merchants I've spoken with mentioned that color-coding employees and extending this system to open bar tabs would simplify locating a server's tab, particularly during peak hours.

  12. Merchant would like to be able to change the order type in the Clover dining app. Currently, it only allows the change in the Register app. This can make the order printing process confusing as it shows both the section and order type on the order receipt.

  13. Dashboard: Cannot edit item quantities in bulk, only single edits allowed unless uploaded via spreadsheet which would require existing items to be removed to avoid duplicates on the newly imported file. When selecting bulk edit, please consider an option for quantity.

  14. Dashboard: When editing an item, all sections are collapsed automatically, majority edits consist of quantities/stock which are located at the very bottom, could we disable the auto collapse or re-arrange the position of those options (quantity/ stock)

  15. Orders shown on KDS should be able to snake around rather than having to scroll down. Right now they have to scroll down to see the entire order. That is not ideal for a busy restaurant They are switching from toast and they have the ability to see the entire order without having to scroll.

  17. Hi, I just want to know if there are any plans to offer a smaller customer-facing kiosk unit?

    The current one is nice, but too big/tall for stores with limited cash register space.

    Ideally, the kiosk would be big but not big enough that it takes up space needed to do a manual/cash transactions right in front of/above it. Essentially taking up the spot where Clover Minis are usually placed in a Clover Duo Station set up (i.e. a screen facing the customer with the POS right in front of it).

  18. When I select an item such as a latte I am then presented options such as milk type, syrups, temperature etc.

    The issue I have now if I select multiple of the same modifier such as vanilla syrup it prints out on the order ticket like this and can lead to very long order receipts:

    Latte ICED
    Oat milk
    Vanilla
    Vanilla
    Vanilla
    hazelnut

    ideally it would look like this:

    Latte ICED
    Oat milk
    3 x Vanilla
    1 x hazelnut

    Also, is there a way to where it only charges for the first modifier added but no extra as additional are…

  19. KDS - Multiple Courses - show all the courses and firing by prep time

    Different dishes has different prep time, therefore some 2nd course dishes need to be fired at the same time as 1st course dishes.
    Some items are fulfilled quickly and can end up getting cold (or warm) while waiting for service, and other items need more time. It slows service down.
